Past guests have raved about the warm welcome from owners and hosts, Peter and Deirdre, and their fantastic chef/housekeeper service, which, for a very reasonable costs, sees them deliver a meal, lay the table and even clear up after - it is the perfect treat from frazzled parents desperate for a special and romantic evening without babysitting. Top it off with post dinner drinks on your terrace and most guests are heading to the local estate agent before their week is out, hoping to find their own permanent slice of French paradise!
Peter and Deirdre were the perfect hosts! The welcoming arrival we had was so lovely after our long journey. The cottage, grounds and location were gorgeous. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the home cooked dinner, Deirdre dished up the best food I have ever had! We loved the little farm out the back, when you open the window the pony, goat and chickens came to the window. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!Review dated 21/07/2018
Excellent cottage, location and welcome by the extremely friendly and helpful owners. Lots to see in the area or explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Would highly recommend :)Review dated 26/08/2016
We had a wonderful week at Rue De La Dive. The cottage was lovely and felt like we had our own place in France. Deirdre was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. The cottage is well placed with day trips to some very pretty towns and the coast possible. Overall we had a great experience.Review dated 28/06/2015
The Cottage is really baby-friendly, Deirdre and Pete were incredibly welcoming, and our 9 month old loved the toys, the swings, and the cats in particular! Lots to do in the local area, although it's very tempting just to stay in the garden playing and eating croissants...Review dated 07/06/2015
We had a fantastic time and made full use of all the facilities. We would definitely go back for another holiday and would highly recommend it to others.Review dated 01/08/2014
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. It's perfect for little one but also for the adults too!Review dated 26/09/2012
a lovely place with wonderful hosts - we had a wonderful timeReview dated 06/10/2011
This really is a fabulous cottage and location - the grounds are amazing, so when you are at home you can wander to the swings, go and say hello to the donkey, swoosh through the weeping willow to the secret play area, play tennis (we marched the travel cot and toys round there and set our little one up on the grass surrounding the court!). The location is also amazing - close to fab markets for provisions, and within walking distance to the most amazing bakery we have ever come across in our times travelling around France - and that is some accolade! We have been recommending the cottage to all of our friends with babies - it is beautifully finished to a very high standard, and really is the perfect place to relax and unwind - with lots of places to visit no more than a 30 min car journey away for jaunts out. Oh - and to round it off - Deirdre and Pete will cook gorgeous meals twice a week and serve it to you on your candlelit terrace - a meal out without the hassle! Just perfectionReview dated 21/09/2011
Comfortable cottage, recently tastefully renovated, particularly suitable for getting-away-from-it-all style breaks. Friendly engaged owners, good toddler facilities and nice garden/grounds. We had a pleasant relaxing break, and felt quickly at home. Owners can also cook, so the meal-in-the-cottage was also a good experience (... although I ate too much!).Review dated 26/08/2010
Overall Experience: Outstanding!Review dated 02/06/2010
We have had the nicest week. The kids have been captivated by the house, all the facilities, and the animals! We would highly recommend Deirdre and Peter's 'eat-in' option. Delicious! An aperitif in front of a roaring log fire is the perfect end to a day on the go. Did lots of kid-friendly outings. The tennis court was a big success - the Dads even managed to knock a few balls around most evenings, dodging the kids on tractors, bikes and scooters. Perfect.Review dated 03/11/2009
We have had a lovely holiday. Madeline (19 months) adored the playbarn, but the highlight was Nana the Donkey. Review dated 03/11/2009
With ages from 2 3/4 to 67, there was fun had by all! Exploring the many beautiful villages and meeting the delightful locals, we have loved our time here. Wishing we had booked 2 weeks - the amenities have been fantastic. We very much hope to be back in the near future!Review dated 03/11/2009
The gite is lovely, Peter and Deirdre have thought of everything for the little ones. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Review dated 03/11/2009
