Bridlington is a great location for traditional seaside fun. Besides the town’s excellent Blue Flag beach, on what is dubbed the Nautical Mile, the whole family can enjoy a series of sculptures, artworks and modernist beach huts created by artist Bruce McLean. On the North Shore, children will love the dodgems and other fairground rides with candy floss, while parents can play a little bingo. For those with more cultural tastes, however, the Old Town offers vintage shops and beautiful Georgian streets.
Head to the Yorkshire Dales where the children can enjoy an aerial adventure park, along with natural attractions like giant rocks, waterfalls and underground caves, or a stroll in the botanical gardens.
Travel up to the North York Moors and visit the beaches and the stately homes. Ride miniature railways or take a trip back in history at the Eden Camp, offering a historic theme which tells the tale of the World War II.
Whatever the family chooses to do, fun will be had for all and there is plenty of family-friendly accommodation in the area offering relaxation and peace of mind.
