Le Sarrail is a cluster of four converted luxury houses that wouldn't look amiss on the pages of Wallpaper* and Elle Decoration in a setting that could inspire the most reluctant of artists. It’s the realisation of a dream for, Becky and Philip, the style-savvy parents who renovated them, but also the answer to the prayers of many families just like them. Along with the mid-century classic furniture pieces, luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, WIFI and bluetooth speakers, come a long list of nursery gear, a host of toys, funky little log-cabin playhouses, pirate ship, trampoline & not forgetting the heated outdoor pool, the elegant lines and chic loungers of which are very often accessorised with a collection of kiddie inflatables.

Peacefully set amongst the vineyards of the Malpere region with stunning panoramic views from almost any where you stand, Le Sarail has a wonderfully tranquil and relaxed atmosphere which soon has guests settling into a laid back routine of long lazy breakfasts on the terrace, a splash in the pool, an afternoon BBQ punctuated by trips down to the trampoline and play house, followed by languid evenings watching the sun set whilst little ones potter around the gardens. The excellent meal delivery service means there's no need to even cook some nights. In fact, an aromatherapy massage followed by a delicious meal delivered to the house and its hard to imagine any where anyone would rather be! The log-burning stoves and DVD/CD players make for cosy evenings after exploring the pretty local towns, including the world famous medieval castle 'la cité' of Carcassonne (just 20 minutes away), or visiting ancient Pyrenean castles, which are less than an hour away.

Maison Olive is the smallest of the four houses and sleeps four (plus cot) in two bedrooms. The ground floor of Maison Figue (3-rooms sleeping 5) and terrace can inter-connect with Maison Citron (3-bedrooms sleeping 6) if required, thus creating a very large 6 bedroom house. Downstairs is open plan living space opening onto a large covered private terrace with table and chairs, gas BBQ and fantastic far-reaching views of the Pyrenees. The kitchens in all four houses are fully equipped with a dishwasher, five-ring gas range, washing machine, microwave and large fridge-freezer. The dining areas boasts dining table and chairs, there is also a comfortable lounge area with TV and wood burning stove. Upstairs comprises good sized bedrooms; master bedrooms with king size bed and ensuite with wet-room style shower, one twin bedroom, one single bedroom and a bathroom. All master and twin bedrooms have french windows with wrought iron balastrade opening to reveal uninterrupted views of the countryside and gardens.

  • Amazing place, we had the best week here and couldn't recommend it enough.Review dated 16/10/2019

  • This was a truly beautiful and relaxing place to holiday - absolutely everything was catered for for both our children (11 months and 2.5 years) and endless toys/activities for them which meant we could actually have a bit of down time! The real beauty of this place is the size - not too many guests, so (if you want to) you can get to know the other guests and children which made it even more enjoyable for everyone as the children played together while we enjoyed the local wine in the sunshine! Phil and Becky went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend the wine tasting evening too - would have done it twice if we could!!Review dated 16/10/2019

  • We had a wonderful week at Le Sarrail. Becky and Phil are fantastic hosts, the accommodation is of excellent quality and very clean. The facilities are brilliant and we hope to return.Review dated 14/10/2019

  • A wonderful stay! Becky and Phil have built a first-rate, welcoming oasis in a stunning setting. And their hospitality is second to none, as evidenced by our eagerness to rebook..!Review dated 10/01/2019

  • Extremely friendly, personal service and excellent child friendly facilities in a well laid out and thoughtfully renovated rural property.Review dated 23/09/2018

  • From the word 'go', we were very much welcomed; when we arrived late (after a short delay at Stansted), the owners were on the phone to check if we were alright/there were any problems. This level of customer care carried on throughout our stay with an early soiruee with the other parents and regular, unintrusive checks to make sure all was as it should be or if we needed any help (even making a reservation at a lovely canal side restaurant!) Their attention to detail cannot be faulted as well as an indespensible 'bible' in each maison that contains all the possible information you could really need. In short, both adults and kids loved it. Thank-you for a wonderful, memorable holiday.Review dated 01/09/2018

  • Amazing location where all you need to do is relax, unwind and let the tranquility wash over you. The proprietors added to the whole experience by being constantly available but never intrusive. A great place.Review dated 10/01/2018

  • Fantastic stay. So many places say they are child/baby friendly but this really is a paradise for little ones... and their parents. Our two year old loved the freedom to explore the wendy house and all the toys plus the heated pool. We loved the chance to sample the local wines and the excellent massage I had in their grown-ups area! Would thoroughly recommend.Review dated 09/01/2018

  • Amazing chic and retro decor in our house, also evident in the 2 play log cabins (complete with kids kitchens and bunk beds!), play barn, pool area and 'underground house' which we referred to this room as! So many play areas for our two boys (19 months and 3). Loads of toys and books in the house - a necessity when traveling with kids this age. The meals we ordered were pricey but excellent. My husband did the biplane flight, an amazing experience, while I opted for the massage by an excellent local masseuse. Hosts are lovely too, always helpful when we had questions.Review dated 08/09/2017

  • We have just returned from a two week stay at Le Sarrail with our two girls aged two and four. We loved it! The accommodation is lovely, a real home away from home and has everything you might need. The girls loved all the space and freedom they had to run around and play in the different playhouses, on the trampoline, in the pool etc. The grounds are beautiful and are really safe for small children. Becky and Phil are very welcoming and were happy to answer any questions we had. Overall it is a great place to stay and we look forward to going back someday!Review dated 28/06/2016

  • Absolutely first class accommodation! Great relaxed environment for the kids. Our 2 1/2yr old loved the trampoline and pool. Can't wait to come back again!Review dated 13/09/2014

  • We had a wonderful holiday and will most definitely be returning.Review dated 16/06/2013

  • Our boys are age 2 and 3 - we have already booked a return visit for next year. This is the perfect holiday for our family - great facilities for the children and relaxation for us. Thank youReview dated 01/11/2012

  • A great place to be, for grown ups and kids. We loved the play barn, the playhouse in the pool area was great too. Apartment was well equipped with numerous toys and books (didn't need to take our own afterall!). Great hosts, friendly and helpful. Views from the barn and pool were sublime. Boulangerie short drive.Review dated 01/11/2012

  • We just wanted to say thank you for giving us the most incredibly calm, relaxing holiday we could ever wish to have had with two small children in tow! We can't express just how much we enjoyed and appreciated every aspect of your beautiful home. On paper it would seem impossible to create a place where adults and children could be equally happy and relaxed, in our experience it has usually been one or the other. It was such a treat for us to be in beautiful 'grown up' surroundings, wonderful furniture, uninterrupted views, and most importantly peace, while the children could enjoy that all important feeling of freedom to explore the little houses, the barn and the pool. What you have created really is totally unique, what clever people you are!!Review dated 07/07/2014
