  • Lovely property and lovely owners. We had a wonderful time. Our baby loved the puppy, cat, dog and chickensReview dated 16/09/2017

  • From a toddler perspective it works really well. High Chair, toys, cot and gates available if needed. We stayed in the smaller property and our toddler enjoyed helping himself to the contents of the fridge and kitchen cupboards but there is little that could be done to such a small and old property like this to prevent it. The gardens and property are stunning and the overall setting and facilities are near perfect. You will need a car to explore but there are so many great things to do to amuse you and your kids within an hour's drive or less. The owners made us feel very welcome and could not do more to make the stay so lovely including a wonderful vegetarian lasagne waiting for us upon arrrival, you really should choose this option when you book. Equally the owners left us alone and let us crack on and enjoy the stay. We felt so at home here and we totally recommend you pay this place a visit with our without kids. • Bois Bourdet is a beautiful relaxing place to visit with your family. It is very remote and rural. The local towns are very quiet - especially in August - so you have to drive a way to experience a bit more life. However if its peace and relaxation you are after, it is perfect. We found it very easy with our 6 month old daughter.Review dated 04/09/2016

  • Gorgeous place, so relaxing and my 18 month old Imogen loved running around after the animals and going on the swings. The hospitality was perfect - nothing was too much trouble, and meals Xavier prepared for us in the evening were a luxury. I would definitely return to this piece of paradise. Gorgeous accommodation too.Review dated 30/05/2016

  • We had a fabulous week in Petite Maison, Bois Bourdet with our 10 month old daughter. The cottage was lovely and very well equipped for a baby. The grounds and area are beautiful and Charlotte loved watching the chickens and playing in the gardens. A very relaxing week for all of us in a lovely part of France.Review dated 26/06/2015

  • Idyllic location with with lots of special touches provided by Xavier & Stéphanie.Review dated 24/09/2013

  • Perfect! Xavier is a great host- his meals served on our terrace were all the best parts of going out without the hassles of going out. A great time had by all- especially out 18month old toddler who could get enough of collecting eggs, eating fruit straight from the tree and eating tea in the play house. Perfect destination for little ones.Review dated 17/08/2013

  • We had a great two weeks at La Petite Maison with our 18-month old little girl. She loved the huge garden, all the toys, especially the wooden wendy house and eating fresh blackberries straight from the bushes. We were really well looked after and at the same time left to get on with it, Xavier's attentiveness was just right. The food is indeed utterly delicious, our only regret is that we didn't eat there more than we did! The pool is immaculately maintained, it was great to have a dip there everyday. Good base for exploration of surrounding area too. Highly recommended all round!Review dated 12/09/2012

  • A fantastic first holiday with our one year old son. The grounds were perfect for a baby who does not want to stay still and the tractor and chickens were a constant source of entertainment.Review dated 16/08/2012

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Bois Bourdet. We had our 6 month old baby with us and we had an extremely relaxing stay. The hosts (Xavier and Stephanie) were charming. We opted to have our meals provided on the two nights offered and we were amazed as we were presented with the most delicious 5 course meal. Would definitely recommend this place and think it is the perfect place for toddlers to roam free too.Review dated 15/09/2011

  • The new owners (Summer 2011) Xavier and Stephanie were very friendly hosts and Xavier is an exceptional cook. It was such a treat to have the baby safely tucked up in bed and have a delicious 5 course meal served on our private terrace in the evening sun.Review dated 02/06/2011

  • Excellent accomodation, the owners were extremely helpful and the food they made delicious! Would definitely recommend.Review dated 13/09/2010

  • We enjoyed a wonderful one week stay here at the beginning of June (but we wished we had stayed for longer...).Samuel particularly enjoyed chasing the chickens, the playhouse and pool, as well as being able to run around to his heart's content. We particularly enjoyed Les and Louise's wonderful cooking, which can be served to you in your room or on your terrace, so there is no need to worry about finding babysitters. We can't recommend it highly enough!Review dated 03/11/2009

  • Day trips to Valley of the Monkeys, La Rochelle & Parthenay were really successful but the real holiday pleasure was back at base in the garden, with the chickens or enjoying the evening gastronomic delights. There was something for everyone - a perfect holiday, Thank you so much - we will return!!Review dated 03/11/2009

  • We have loved it here and so have the children. Les, Louise & Ellie have been fantastic hosts and we hope to be back again another time. Review dated 03/11/2009

  • Thank you so much for our wonderful stay, everything was perfect - the setting, Louise's fantastic cuisine, the pool which Emmy loved and the vegetable patch! We will definitely be back, thanks. Review dated 03/11/2009

  • We've had the most fantasitc time - thank you for everything. La petite maison was perfect. Such a great place for a holiday with a toddler. Ella loved the chickens and the pool. The weather was wonderful and the food was scrumptious. Thank you - we hope to be back! Review dated 03/11/2009

  • I would like to thank the chickens for providing me with hours of fun. The tractor was great, a little noisy but still great. The pool is where I perfected by back stroke, the little house is where I had a meal with the Queen, the sand pit was the beach at St Ouen. I loved every minute . The walks around the fields of sunflowers, more tractors (great!), the horses and just in case I have not mentioned the chickens, the chickens. - Thanks Les & Louise - If Finn loved, we love it more & the food was superb! Review dated 03/11/2009

  • This is a wonderful place. Highly recommended for Adults and Children alike. Great accomodation, food, hospitality, etc etc. All excellent standard. We had a great holiday...Review dated 03/11/2009

  • We had the best holiday, relaxing even with two young children and mixed weather. The accommodation is fantastic, pool and all the stuff for the kids, everything has been thought of! The best thing of all though is Louise's cooking, amazing! Our one year old loved the chickens and our 3 year old loved the pool and the pizza making!!Review dated 03/11/2009

  • Many thanks to Louise and Les for such a wonderfully warm welcome to their beautiful home. The highlight of our stay was the evening meals - being new parents we miss going out to a restaurant, so it was fantastic to enjoy Louise's incredible 4-course dinners (plus aperitif and wine!) which Les served to us on the terrace. All the time we knew that our 1-year-old was safely fast asleep just behind us, no doubt dreaming of another happy day chasing chickens and getting messy in the sandpit!Review dated 03/11/2009
