Accommodation Overview
Granary: sleeps 6 in a double and two twins. Because of its fantastic views, the house is designed upside down so on entering, the original granite steps take you upstairs to the beautiful, airy living/kitchen area. Its beamed, vaulted ceiling and many windows, flood it with light in the day, whilst the large wood burning stove gives it a perfect evening cosiness. A double bedroom with en suite shower, washbasin and toilet, and two twin rooms, plus a shower room and a bathroom are all downstairs. The sunny (sorry no guarantees!) courtyard garden complete with decking is reached via one of the twin rooms. All the heating and hot water for the cottages and pool complex is via a new Biomass boiler fuelled by Elephant grass, which is grown on site. Also a wind turbine supplies much of the electricity.
The scenic coastal town of Fowey, recently voted the third most aspirational place to live in the UK, is just 15 minutes drive, whilst the riverside town of Lostwithiel, with its good selection of eateries and specialist shops, is only a mile away. Alternatively, a scenic farm trail leads from the cottages along the banks of the River Fowey to the creek side village of Lerryn and a great family friendly pub for meals out. The owners are fonts of knowledge on the best beaches and attractions for young families.

This was the most fantastic place to go with toddlers. There were enough facilities on the farm to keep us occupied for the six days we stayed, including a very good soft play centre with slide, a really warm indoor pool with floats and balls, a good quality outdoor play area with various equipment for all ages, an indoor sand play area complete with buckets and spades, and best of all the daily animal feeding, including lambs, pigs, goats and chickens. The farm even had a selection of scooters and tractors for children to ride around on, which was a great idea. The accommodation was good quality, although not luxurious. All kitchen equipment you would need was provided, and stair gates and cots were good. Decoration was perhaps a little tired, and slightly basic in some parts, but overall the accommodation was definitely satisfactory. We will definitely return as the set up for toddlers just works so well.Review dated 07/03/2013
