Described as ‘a slice of paradise’ by one delighted guest, Gites de Sevenne is a pretty pair of cottages for families to unwind, just 20 minutes off the beaten track from the tourist honeypots of the Dordogne. It took owners Sandie and Mark five years to find the perfect French property to be their home and business with no compromises, but in 2011 the couple fell in love at first sight with seductive ‘Sevenne’.
Gites de Sevenne is a tranquil hideaway deep in the unspoilt Lot and Garonne region, ‘far from the madding crowds’ that flood into the Dordogne yet under half an hour’s drive from the buzzing ‘bastide’ walled towns and natural attractions. The nearest village is Saint Barthelemy d'Agenais (3km) where there is a tabac, bar, deli, boulangerie and post office. The nearest town with more shops, supermarkets, banks and restaurants is Miramont-de-Guyenne (14kms).

We had such a lovely holiday at Duck Cottage. The gite was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The gardens were fantastic- our son was kept entertained with all the toys, ride-ons, animals and the lovely swimming pool. Sandie was such a great host and had thought of everything to make a holiday at Duck Cottage as relaxing for the adults as it was entertaining for the children!Review dated 27/06/2018
Duck Cottage was perfect for us and our 2 children (3yrs boy and 10 week old baby). Sandie had thought of everything we could possibly need and the place was full of Duplo, Fisher Price, Ride-ons toys and other toys perfect for a 3 year old (plus baby paraphernalia). The swimming pool and trampoline in the garden kept our son busy and exhausted and there were enough things to do within 30 minutes drive to keep us all happy all week. Would definitely recommend to any young family.Review dated 15/09/2013
A wonderful holiday. Sandie was so accommodating and could not have made our stay any better. The gardens are lush and quiet, perfect for children with a trampoline, tree house, table tennis and other games, while my youngest highly enjoyed feeding and chasing the chickens! The pool was fabulous - large and clean, and we particularly enjoyed the night swim. Highly recommendedReview dated 29/07/2013
Sevenne is a fantastic setup (the recently hatched ducklings were an added bonus that our girls loved to watch) with beautiful grounds. We spent 4 weeks in Duck Cottage and out hosts Sandie & Mark were great. They we're always professional and friendly passing on great local knowledge (walks, boulangerie, etc) and checking we were settled in and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend Sevenne to family and friends (with & without kids) as a fantastic place to holiday in its own right but also as a lovely base to visit the surrounding wine country!Review dated 08/07/2013
A hidden gem in the Dordogne, somewhere we would definitely go back to, perfect in every way for young children. Sandie and Mark are wonderful hosts and make you feel like you are part of Canard Ferme whilst you are there.Review dated 27/07/2012
Fantastic stay. Friendly and helpful owners. Excellent time away with 2 kids.Review dated 19/07/2012
If you're looking to drop out of a busy, pressured existence for a while and enter the world of chilled out, rural ideal - this is for you. Ideal for younger children, when our toddlers weren't chasing the chickens/ducks, they were in the pool... or the tree house or playing in the huge garden. Sandie was an excellent, friendly and helpful host - nothing was too much trouble and she really added the personal touch. She's also a marvellous cook and the welcome meal was delicious! Lovely towns nearby to explore and swim in rivers or raid markets of local produce. Just lovely. Good value for money this holiday. Only problem was we wanted more than a week!Review dated 06/07/2012
