This rustic-chic finca is an idyllically set family-friendly boutique hotel combining stylish interiors with small hotel charm, a lovely rural location, 10 minutes drive from one of the best beaches on the island, and a family-friendly approach. It is owned and managed by Birgit and Jonas and their friendly team of helpers.
The 10 suites come with spacious double bedrooms, and separate living areas with sofa beds/space for toddler beds and mini kitchens that are perfect for warming baby food/feed or knocking up cereal or pasta for toddlers. The practical yet luxurious accommodation and tranquil but convenient (with a car) location, combined with a useful baby and toddler gear, from toys and highchairs to changing mats, potties, sterilisers and cots, makes Hotel Migjorn a great find for style-savvy families.
Unsurprisingly, the guestbook is stuffed full of rave reviews from happy parents of pre-schoolers. All adore the fact that Hotel Migjorn is just 10 minutes (drive) from some of the island's best beaches, a fraction further to the picturesque town of Santanyi, home to good restaurants, boutiques, and bars, and only half an hour from the airport, making for stress-free arrivals and departures. However, the highest praise is reserved for the ambiance, which, with only 10 guestrooms, is more akin to that of a serviced villa than a typical hotel - especially when enjoying waiter service by the fabulously uncrowded pool!
The cuisine also garners high praise. Much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used in the delicious daily breakfasts, lunches and vegetables are grown on its 'Home Farm', which guests are also invited to raid for supplies to cook in their own kitchenettes (equipped with twin hobs, fridges, sinks and microwaves. Daily breakfasts focus on fresh fruit, organic cereals and cheeses and are served on the terrace until 10.30am daily. The excellent Spanish/BBQ nights usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, there's waiter service for drinks, nibbles and light lunches (ordered by 11am) by the pool. The charred garlic chicken and local chorizos are not to be missed, whilst junior guests lap up the Migjorn Meatballs. Vegetarians are also well looked after.
Mini guests particularly enjoy the comfortably heated pool and play area, both of which are a real bonus in spring and autumn. The pool is well-heated and still comfortable in the autumn months.
Accommodation Overview - Ground Floor Superior Suites
Accommodation at Hotel Migjorn is in a choice of four suite types: 'Deluxe Double', 'Ground Floor Superior', 'First Floor Superior' and 'Junior Suite Superior'. All comprise of separate bedroom and living areas with pretty white-washed walls, natural stone floors, exposed beam ceilings and good quality furnishings. Each has 1 bedroom (twin or double) and a separate open-plan living area complete with kitchenette (sink, fridge, ice box, 2-ring hob and microwaves on request), seating and dining areas (see floor plans in photo gallery). The main difference between them is the size of the living area and the terrace or balcony.
Ground Superior Suites feature all of the above plus very large private terraces, with dining tables, sun loungers and lovely rural views.

Despite its tranquil setting there are several little towns with decent supermarkets and good restaurants within 5-10minutes drive of the hotel. Plus, Es Trenc beach, reputedly the best beach on the entire island, is only 5mins away. However, families often find Cala Santanyi (10kms) more convienent as you can park close to the beach, easily hire beds and sun umbrellas, and there are family-friendly restaurants. The town itself is also popular due to its combination of charm and traditional architecture with interior design boutiques and international restaurants. The twice weekly markets in the town square has hand crafted jewellery, flower, fresh local produce and leather goods stalls. Arrive early and people watch from one of the many cafes or restaurants lining the square.
Alternatively, stay at little closer to home and hire bikes (trailers and child seats available) via the hotel and cycle to the nearby beaches and villages - the perfect way to burn off some of chef 's excellent cooking!

Our ten suites are individually furnished, combining a contemporary style with traditional high quality Mallorcan architecture. Each suite comprises of a large bedroom, bathroom en-suite, and a spacious lounge with dining area and small kitchen. All but two suites feature private loggia or terraces. A varied breakfast buffet made with love is included in the suite prize.
Only 30 minutes from Palma airport, our Hotel Migjorn in the south of Mallorca is perfectly located for a beach vacation: in about 5 minutes you can reach the Caribbean-like natural beach Es Trenc and only a little further you will find the gorgeous coves of the Southeast Coast, all with fine sand and shallow and pristine waters which warm up quickly to comfortable temperatures early in the year – a perfect playground for children. And with an average of over 300 days of sunshine per year for the southern part of Mallorca, beautiful weather is virtually guaranteed. In addition, the hotel is surrounded by many places for exciting daytime activities.
In our restaurant you can enjoy delicious lunches and dinners every day as well as fresh salads, tasty snacks, and fabulous ice cream, all prepared freshly out of high-quality, mostly regional ingredients. Of course we cater to your wishes and food intolerances and also have a vegan menu ready for you on request. Our guests especially also enjoy our selection of wines from Mallorca, mainland Spain and France, as well as our changing assortment of Mallorcan and international Craft Gins. All our cocktails – with or without alcohol – are prepared with love.
As we welcome only up to 10 families in our suites, children quickly find companions on our premises, which provides our adult guests with opportunities to truly relax and unwind. While our young guests have fun at our playground, the garden with the soccer goal or in the large heated pool with lots of our floating toys, parents can enjoy reading a book in the hammock, treating themselves to a wonderfully soothing massage, having a chat over a nice cafe con leche, or simply sun-bathing.
Our weekly tapas and barbecue evenings provide an excellent opportunity to get to know the other families, as on these 2 evenings we dine together at long tables and enjoy the Mallorcan balmy evenings while the children play in line of sight.

Hotel Migjorn was the perfect hotel for us. The owners are so friendly and always happy to help with suggestions for outings in the local area, providing toys and sun shades for our 19 month old son for trips to the beach etc. They couldn't do enough for us. The directions from Palma airport were also very clear which made the whole journey with a toddler much less stressful. We would definitely like to return here. The location is superb (as long as you hire a car); near lots of lovely beaches with turquoise sea and stunning coves and pretty little towns. A very unspoilt area of Mallorca, a far cry from the big resorts.
We had a fantastic week staying with our two daughters (age 4 and 1) at Hotel Migjorn in one of their superior suites. The setting for the hotel is excellent - all the grounds/pool area are so well kept and the hotel has such a relaxing atmosphere. All throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome by such friendly family owners and the rest of the staff. We ate at the hotel most evenings mainly due to the wonderful food, for the children too. Breakfasts were also great - so much choice. Transfers from the airport were quick (30 mins) and straightforward. During our week we managed to visit a different beach every day, that were all stunning and perfect for young children. These were all within a short drive from the hotel. A hire car is essential but the roads in the area are very good. We have highly recommended the hotel to friends and would love to return. A very memorable family holiday.
