BFB's Overview

Seaside towns don’t come much prettier than Tenby, on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast, and Aubrey Villa is under 5 minutes’ walk from its sandy beaches and the charming heart of this fab, family destination.
First the Georgians and then the Victorians made Tenby a fashionable seaside resort and Aubrey Villa is a legacy from those years, being a period family house, that’s been newly renovated in a smart, contemporary style. The renovation has included a brand new kitchen and two new bathrooms as well as simple, tasteful decor and high quality furnishings. With four bedrooms, Aubrey Villa has plenty of space for large and extended families, plus the owners have well equipped the house with children in mind. All the vital baby gear is provided and there is a large selection of toys, books, DVD’s and a Wii console. Older ones will also be pestering Mum and Dad to take them to the beach to splash into the sea on a couple of body boards.
Although North Beach is just a short stroll away, Aubrey Villa also has a private walled garden with a table, chairs and bbq which is perfect for relaxing after busy days out and about. Direct access through a side gate is also handy for pushing in a pram or stroller.

Accommodation overview

Aubrey Villa is a spacious, Victorian family house which sleeps up to 8, plus a baby and / or toddlers, with a travel cot, single futon and trundle bed available. Two of the bedrooms have king size beds, one is a twin room with 3ft beds and the fourth has 3ft bunk beds, which are big and sturdy enough for adults if required. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower overhead and there is a separate shower-room and WC. The large living room has comfy sofas and real-flame gas stove, a flat-screen TV, DVD player, Bluetooth music player, Wii and Wi Fi. The kitchen is brand new and fitted with modern appliances, including a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a dining table that seats 8 and both a high chair and booster seat are provided. Aubrey Villa has a private walled garden, with table, chairs and barbecue, plus direct access from the street through a side gate, for prams, pushchairs and bikes. There is a cycle rack in the garden to store your bikes. There is parking nearby at local car parks.

Location Information

Aubrey Villa is located on a quiet street, just 5 minutes’ walk from all the shops, ice cream parlours, restaurants and pubs of the pretty seaside town of Tenby in Pembrokeshire. The sandy and sheltered North Beach is also under 5 minutes’ walk and both South Beach and Castle Beach are within easy walking distance as well.
With its pastel coloured town-houses, boats bobbing in the harbour, elegant Georgian and Victorian terraces and charming cobbled streets within medieval walls, Tenby is the perfect seaside town for family holidays. Days can happily be spent building sandcastles on the beach and paddling or body boarding in the sea, or children can have fun in the Jubilee Gardens playground, overlooking South Beach, or take a time-travelling trail back to Tudor times at the 15th century Merchant’s House.

The spectacular Pembrokeshire coast path heads out of Tenby and there is a wealth of family attractions within the National Park, less than half an hour’s drive away. At The Dinosaur Park (10 mins drive) junior Jurassic adventurers can follow a dino trail, have fun on a variety of rides and burn off some energy in the indoor adventure playground. Heatherton World of Activities (12 mins drive) promises indoor and outdoor fun for all ages, including a playzone for 3-10 year olds with a sand pit and diggers, giant puzzle zone, electric car driving school, water peddlerz and craft shack cafe. Folly Farm (15 mins drive) is much more than a farm, with 50 species of animals, including rhino, lions, giraffes and penguins, plus a vintage fun fair, and large, indoor and outdoor play areas. For theme park thrills, Oakwood (25 mins drive) has loads of roller coasters and rides, from the Neverland zone for little visitors to family and adrenaline adventures for bigger and braver ones. The Blue Lagoon Waterpark (25 mins drive) is part of the Bluestone Holiday Park but 3 hour sessions can be booked in advance for children to have a splashing time in the pools and on the waterslides, including Nippers Cove for young ones. Tenby itself has a wealth of activities for children within walking distance including a large indoor soft play in a converted chapel and both the Tenby Lifeboat Station and Museum will keep aspiring engineers, pirates and archaeologists amused.

For brave little knights and beautiful princesses, Pembrokeshire is filled with historic castles to act out epic adventures, including Carew Castle (17 mins drive), Manorbier Castle (19 mins drive), Pembroke Castle (25 mins drive) and Picton Castle (30 mins drive).

Who owns this place?

I am happily married with two young children who keep me very busy. I like to think that I am fairly active and we have recently bought the family mountain bikes to start cycling the beautiful countryside around us - just need my son to lose his stabilisers! I work part-time as a management consultant in Canary Wharf, London and so I am busy juggling a career and being a mum.

  • We were a group ranging from 2 years of age to 96 and the house served us all very well. The courtyard garden was a real plus for the children, as of course, were the toys. It was also great to be able to stroll out into the town for a drink or supper. We all felt very much at home.Review dated 26/06/2017

  • Had a great week even though weather wasn't on our side. House in good location. Very close to shops and beaches. Well stocked and our toddler enjoyed all the toys and they kept him amused when it was raining. Would definitely recommend.Review dated 06/07/2016
