Vale View Place is a superb Bolthole for families and friends to enjoy the world-famous sights, shops and restaurants of gorgeous Bath. The city centre is within a mile of this classic 3-storey townhouse but Larkhall also has the feel of a hip little village, complete with a top notch butchers, deli bakery, greengrocers and 18th century pub.

Pulling into the gated driveway, guests leave the bustle of the city to daytrippers and can feel more than a little smug about discovering such a gem, which has been given a four star gold award by the tourist board. Although discovering the historic and cultural delights of Bath is essential, no-one will be in any real hurry to head off for the day and everyone will be happy to get back!

Vale View Place offers tardis-like accommodation for up to 8 people and has a contemporary style with old, new and retro features, including a comfy Conran sofa, funky Tom Dixon lights and antique French furniture. The large, open plan living area has a fab bi-fold door onto a secluded walled patio garden where children can safely play and toddlers totter between the inside and out, while adults simply relax or stoke up the bbq. The bespoke kitchen is sleek, state of the art and adjoins a bright, light dining room, so whoever’s doing the cooking can be part of the table talk. Although the house has three storeys, stairgates can be provided and the four bedrooms are simple and relaxing, with Egyptian cotton linen.

Accommodation Overview

Three-storey Vale View Place sleeps up to 8+cots in two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor plus two bedrooms and a shower wet room on the second floor. Three of the rooms have a double bed and the fourth, on the top floor, has a zip-link double bed which can be made up as two single beds. A travel cot is provided and three of the bedrooms have space for this.

Vale View Place has a brilliant location, just a mile from the centre of Bath on the edge of the Larkhall area, where several independent shops and a great pub create a laid back village atmosphere. Gene runs the Larkhall Butchers and is the man for locally sourced meat, tasty sausages, seasonal game and even fish on Fridays. Andy and Fran offer a tempting choice of cheeses, nibbles and fresh baked pastries at Goodies Deli, with their almond pastries the perfect start to the day. Tony is the greengrocer, supporting local farmers with his selection of seasonal fruit, veg and organic produce. Wine or whiskey buffs will even be in their element at The Tasting Rooms where, as the name suggests, tasting sessions can be arranged and staff are always happy to recommend the perfect tipple for every meal or occasion. For general groceries, Larkhall has a small Co-operative supermarket and like every good village, the heart of the community is the Grade 1 listed 18th century pub, The Larkhall Inn.

From the Roman Baths to the Georgian Royal Crescent, Bath is a world-renowned mecca for sightseeing and simply having a few days to explore the city at a leisurely pace is a pleasure. The King William is a cute little pub that’s worth popping in on the way into town, The Hudson boasts the best steaks and Casanis offers fine French dining for a special treat. To get out of the city for day, Dundas Bike and Boat Hire is only 5 miles from Bath near Monkton Combe. Not forgetting Longleat Safari park with its Postman Pat village, just a few miles away.

A beautiful expansive townhouse. A perfect combination of grown-up style and kiddy comfort. And brilliant location - feels like it's in a village but is just ten minutes from the centre of Bath. Highly recommended!
