Tom’s Lane Cottage is a picture-perfect slice of rural England, ideal for young families thanks to its wonderful, secluded location in the New Forest and acres of beautiful gardens, which are perfect for running about and games of hide and seek, also it provides hours of facination for gardening enthusiasts, especially in spring months.

The cottage's setting on the edge of a gently rolling valley with beautiful rural views gives it a wonderful sense of tranquillity. It’s not unusual to spot deer, foxes, badgers, wild ponies and cattle roaming around the gardens or surrounding heathland, giving junior guests a fantastic close-up introduction to nature and providing parents with entertainment when dining al fresco during warm evenings.

The country contemporary interiors reflect the natural beauty of its setting with a palette of spring greens, muted creams and honey colours along with traditional materials such as solid oak in the kitchen and limestone in the bathroom. Luxury touches such as flatscreen TVs, Freeview, DVD/CD player, fresh flowers and quality bathroom toiletries, add to the high quality feel.

Junior guests love making friends with the neighbouring animals- Walter the horse, Jesse the Labrador and Poppet Shetland pony . Poppet is a tiny pony nearer the size of a large dog than a horse and the perfect size for toddlers who can't fail to fall in love with her within a few days of staying at the cottage.

Grown-up guests appreciate thoughful touches including a welcome basket with wine, chocolates and breakfast goodies to aid arrival night relaxation, plus fresh flowers and luxury toiletries. Along with the provision of a long list of useful baby and toddler gear (see fast facts) and details of experineced babysitters.

We loved Toms Lane Cottage which is so authentic and really gives you the "in the middle of nowhere" feeling, yet remarkably it seems to close to so many wonderful attractions, days out and beautiful walks. The cottage is cute and luxurious featuring all those essential and welcome bits and pieces that are important for little ones. The gardens and grounds were wonderful for our children to explore. The owners, who live in the immediate vicinity, were always on hand to help or offer advice on all sorts of things. A wonderful holiday!

What a beautiful cottage in such an idyllic location. All the little touches in the cottage are lovely, , from the arrival pack, chocolates, wine etc. There wasn't one thing that we needed that wasn't provided, including toys for Mathew, soaps and a beautiful dog Jessie that Mathew loved as well as the two ponies. We visited Exbury Gardens which was beautiful and the steam train was enjoyed by all. Mathew enjoyed the Fairy Hunt and the tree houses at Furzy Gardens and it was my parents joy to see him get so excited at what was around the next corner. Longdown Farm is also great for children and is really hands on, we loved it. We bought some meat from the farm which Mark and I enjoyed on the BBQ with a bottle of wine whilst watching the sun go down, Mathew exhausted and tucked into bed! What a great weekend. Can't wait to revisit. Thanks for everything.

The cottage was fanstatic. My 18 month old son adored the big garden and had lots of fun playing with the garden toys provided. It was ideally situated for all the activies we had planned to do and the information pack provide gave us lots ideas for places to eat and local attractions. We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to come back again in the future.
