New parents and fans of retro-chic will adore this stylish, self-catering studio set within a glorious Georgian townhouse b&b in the heart of charming Bradford-on-Avon. It is the ideal retreat for world-weary urbanites, or frazzled new parents, looking to escape to the country, whilst having all the benefits of a bustling market town on the doorstep!
The studio may once have been the old kitchen for the town house but its now a bright, modern tribute to mid-century style and Scandinavian home comfort. The owner has cleverly combined features such as exposed beams, parquet flooring and wood burning stove, with vintage furnishings and accessories to create an effect would be at home on the pages of many an interiors magazine, plus there's the good food pubs, delis, bistros and charming shops just down the road.
The studio is just the kind of place where you can hole up for a few days, even a week, and not have to venture into the car. The fact that the Georgian splendour, excellent shopping, spa and fantastic restaurants of Bath, or the wildlife wonders of Longleat are only a few miles away might sound like serious motivation to jump in the car but with the handy farmers market, deli, good food pubs and shops of pretty Bradford on Avon just a short stroll away, it is all too easy not to. New parents can revel in 'me time' instead and curl up in front of the log burner, unwind to favourite tunes via the iPod dock or spin some vinyl on the vintage record player, flick through one of the many glossy magazines or make a selection from the DVD library, venturing out only for a long lazy lunch or a precious night out, thanks to the pre-bookable, CRB-checked babysitter!
The good design goes beyond the look and feel, with all the amenities guests can hope for cleverly fitted into the surprisingly spacious studio. The contemporary kitchenette area is well equipped with hob, combination oven/microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer. For dining, there's a classic drop leaf table with kitchen chairs and a wooden high chair for baby. Plenty of space for a cot and a luxurious shower room, featuring a walk-in, travertine tiled rainfall shower and large washbasin. A welcome pack is also provided and pre-arrival shopping is available on request, so there's no need to worry about loading up with nappies, formula, food pouches and wipes, just pre-order them for arrival!
The shelves are stocked with a variety of books and there are toys for little ones, plus the studio has the bonus of a large space for playing outdoors in the house’s main garden with a climbing frame, slide and great views over the town. The studio also has a private courtyard with table, chairs and BBQ for al fresco dining on summer’s evenings.
The studio makes an ideal BFB for a couple and a baby, with a king size bed and travel cot, cosy living area, well equipped kitchen, shower room and outdoor areas.
The Studio at Lynchetts is located at the heart of Bradford-on-Avon, just 20 minutes drive from Bath and 45 minutes from Bristol. The town has its own railway station with trains to Bath and London.
Like Bath, Bradford-on-Avon can trace its origins to Roman times and by the 17th century it was a thriving centre for the woollen industry but today the ancient streets and buildings are buzzing with antique shops, boutiques and places to eat and drink. The owner may well have picked up many of the studio’s retro items from the interesting vintage shops or perhaps from the Vintage and Antiques Market which take place every month in Bath. The regular trains into Bath take just 12-15 minutes, through the picturesque Limpley Stoke Valley, so a visit to the stunning Georgian city is not to be missed.
Bradford-on-Avon is on the Wiltshire Cycleway and offers easy access to the Cotswold Way National Trail. Even with a pram or pushchair, parents can still get out and about following the Kennet and Avon canal along a flat, traffic free route through spectacular countryside, either towards Bath or to the flight of 16 locks at Devizes. A number of cafes and pubs along the way provide a welcome pit-stop for a rest and refreshments.
Numerous National Trust Gardens and Stately Homes provide beautiful settings for a picnic and Stone Henge is within easy reach, while 800 year old Lacock Abbey will seem uncannily familiar as a film set for Harry Potter.
Nearest Medical Services (GP & A&E): Excellent health centre in Bradford-On-Avon. Minor injuries unit at Trowbridge approx. 5 miles. The nearest A&E is in Bath, approx. 9 miles.

Lovely apartment in a great location within close walking distance of the beautiful historic town of Bradford on Avon. Loads of nice features including a log burner and a record player with lots of great old LP's. Very cosy place which felt comfortable and homely but still very stylish. Fantastic garden!
