Family-Friendly Style on Sea’ might best describe The Cove, a grand old building recently converted into stunning contemporary apartments with an acclaimed restaurant and a truly beautiful coastal location. The stylish interiors, original artworks, huge four-poster-beds, sweeping views and sophisticated bar and restaurant (within baby monitor range of the bedrooms) will have most parents wanting to move in for good! Thanks to the timber outdoor play area, heated outdoor swimming pool, and pet rabbits and regular arts and craft sessions, mini guests are likely to feel the same.

Apartment 4 is quite possibly The Cove's premier apartment. On the ground floor with floor to ceiling windows guests gain an 180 degree view of the Cove, Valley and a glistening swimming pool. The apartment has direct access down to the pool making it perfect for families, plus the small private terrace is the perfect place to keep an eye on the little ones playing, take in a spot of alfresco dining or even a relaxing glass of wine once the little ones have been safely tucked up in bed. Complete with bed deck, huge lounge and shower room, this apartment is fun for both kids and romantics!

Lamorna’s natural beauty has inspired many a celebrated artist. Highly recommended is a walk (with back packs or slings recommended rather than pushchairs) along the stunning 2-mile coastal path to Mousehole – try to get a copy of the children’s book ‘The Mousehole Cat’, which is set there to use as a bedtime story before going. The fact that bedrooms are within baby monitor range of the Cove’s acclaimed restaurant allows parents the rare opportunity to ‘dine out’ alone each evening, but its well worth the expense of a babysitter to sample Michelin star dining at The Abbey Penzance. Head chef Ben Tunnicliffe is a Michelin star winner and offers a compelling menu focusing on fresh local ingredients. restaurant. The Cove offer a brilliant range of pre-bookable services including: beauty and massage therapy, tickets to the Minack Theatre (children’s shows often take place in school holiday periods), helicopter flights (including day trips to the Scilly isles), flightseeing tours, chauffeur service, flying lessons, golf, diving, fishing, surfing lessons, bike hire) and picnic hampers.

We really enjoyed the flat, the restaurant, the location and the people there. We thought the restaurant was excellent value, but that the hotel was probably 1/3 over priced. That said, we did have a fantastic time and would definitely consider a return visit, just perhaps not a peak price time.

"Calling The Cove a cluster of self-catering apartments does it scant justice.. This is something else. And, inspite of the luxury, It's also the perfect place to bring children on holiday, wallet permitting: all the facilities of a hotel with the facilities to cater for yourself and any small fussy eaters you may have brought with you." Lovely secluded location, but Lamorna Cove did not live up to their promised high standards (or price tag) I felt. Accommodation nice but in no way exceptional, food again nice but overpriced in my humble opinion.Pool a nice feature but not enough there to make us return in a hurry.Staff on the most part very nice and helpful. We just felt they were trying too hard to be something they are not at the expense of providing only an average experience

Thanks to the staff for making our stay at The Cove so lovely. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so accommodating. Especially Frances and Sophie who were always so friendly and helpful. The level of customer service from Frances was outstanding and made all the difference to our stay. It is rare nowadays for people to go the extra mile and deliver exceptional service and we truly appreciated it. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent and the warm inviting atmosphere was a perfect way to end the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return."
