One look at the fabulous views from these 18th century cottages and its easy to see why owners Andy and Emily Gearing were so enchanted that they relocated here from Cheshire. Set in three acres within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottages enjoy a tranquil location, yet on the edge of a rural hamlet. The pretty former farm buildings have been given an contemporary country make-over combining original features, such as oak beamed ceilings, stone floors and thick walls, with light open plan interiors and luxurious fittings such as creamy marble bathrooms and wetrooms, flat screen TVs, iron bed frames and even an outdoor hot tub (Old Stable Cottage only). The overall impression is modern yet cosy – especially when the log burner is going!

Since the big move, Andy and Emily have become the proud parents of their little daughter Eva and clearly have a real insight into what it takes to enjoy a truly relaxing break with little ones in tow. As well as a very comprehensive list of nursery gear (see grey box below) and some great in and outdoor toys, they've teamed up with a local chef to develop a menu of home-made organic baby purees (suitable from 6 months) and children’s meals that can be ordered in advance and delivered prior to arrival.

The Old Stable cottage has been lovingly restored and decorated with families in mind. The open plan living area with traditional stone floors is warmed by its log burning stove and cosy soft furnishings and sofas. The lounge has a flat screen Sky digital TV with DVD(dvd's included) and CD player, plus a range of toys and game which prove great if the British weather is playing up or even simply a relaxing family night in. The large, contemporary kitchen area is well equipped (cooker/hob, washer/dryer,fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave) and its open plan nature allows parents to keep an eye on the little ones, even if they are busy whipping up a family meal. During the summer the lovely decked terrace (with heater) and lawned garden accessed through large French doors, makes a great place for alfresco dining and little ones will enjoy the sandpit for a pre dinner play, whilst adults may be fans of the gardens hot tub, for a relaxing glass of wine once the little ones are tucked up- that is if you can tear the little ones themselves away from it. Inside there are 2 pretty bedrooms, one double with romantic cast iron bedstead and one twin with a 2 singles and an original beamed ceiling. There is one spacious family bathroom with bath and shower over. The cottage has an interconnecting door which can transform both The Old Stable and its neighbouring Rose Cottage into one large property- perfect for special occasions

Conveniently located ‘at the bottom of the garden’ i.e. across fields in front of the cottages, is Church Bay. This clean, family friendly, sandy beach is excellent for messing about with fishing nets and rock pooling. It’s overlooked by the Church Bay Inn, Wavecrest Cafe and Lobster Pot (great seafood and highchairs!), which are a short stroll from the cottages. Toddler-friendly attractions within a short drive include the new Ace play barn, Anglesey Sea Zoo, which has a nice café and excellent toy shop, Foel Farm Park with petting farm and trailer rides, and Pili Palas Butterfly Park, which has a lovely ‘Pets Corner’ and a well-equipped soft play area with café. Just off the island (over the bridge), the Greenwood Forest Park is a lovely day out. Its special ‘Toddler Village’ has sandpits, mini-houses, pets corner and playground. Back on the island, the play bus with soft play and ball pit at The Pilot Boat pub is great for wearing little ones out before bed, whilst enjoying some parental wind down time too. Highly recommended for a baby-free evening are the contemporary bistro at Ye Olde Bulls Head in Beaumaris, winner of the Gold True Taste Award; For early suppers with little ones in tow, try the excellent gastro-pub fayre and good kids menus at The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn or the, newly refurbished, Seacroft in Treaddur Bay.

The cottages were awarded 5*s by VisitWales. The Baby Website review - When we arrived at the cottages we were greeted by Andy and Emily who were a lovely and helpful couple. The first thing that I noticed was the Views, amazing, from the private garden down across their fields to the sea. Location-wise the cottage was excellent being set in a quiet village and guaranteed peace however it was not too far from attractions appropriate for the children. We will be back !! Tripadvisor - This is the most wonderful self catering holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. There are two cottages (whch can be linked) - we stayed in The Old Stable. Both cottages are targeted at the family market but would suit anyone wanting to stay in a 5* cottage. This was our first family holiday away and we were so impressed, a very enjoyable stay, everything we could need or want. Daily Post - Our cottage had everything a child may need from nappies & wipes, toys and DVD’s to play cabin, private gardens, an amazing view & a hot tub! Instant relaxation, a great place with welcome hamper and meals delivered by caterers to order. Excellent, definitely 5*

The Old Stable was a wonderful place for a winter holiday. A week with our two year old twins was the first relaxing break we've had in years! The hot tub was bliss for us parents while our children were so delighted with the toys provided in the cottage and the outdoor play house. The layout was perfect for a family and for toddlers. We highly recommend it.

We had the most relaxing break at Tan-Y-Bryn I think we've had with small children . Arriving after a really long 7 hour journey we were met with a spotless, yet very homely and stylish cottage in beautiful surroundings. Andy and Emily have thought of everything and more to make the cottage competely child-friendly with everything we needed - from a great selection of toys, kitchen and safety equipment and even a play tent and welcome bags for our 3 and 1yr olds. A wonderfully relaxing and memorable holiday made completely hassle-free thanks to a beautiful cottage, great surroundings and owners who couldn't have been more thoughtful and helpful, yet unobtrusive. What a great way to see in the New Year!

Absolutely fantastic - we can't praise it enough. Everything from the hospitality of the owners to the accomodation itself was wonderful. The hot tub is an absolute gem at this property with its beautiful view straight to the sea you really can relax in it whatever the weather (the kids love it too :-)). The accomodation is maintained to such a high standard it's as if it was finished only yesterday. We will definitely be making a return trip and can't recommend it enough...

We returned for a second holiday this year as we had felt so relaxed and at home on our first visit. The cottage is superbly equipped with everything a family with young kids could need. The rooms are spotless on arrival, Tesco delivered food is already put away in the fridge! and the hot tub provides a great place for the kids to play and grown ups to wind down once the kids are asleep. Owners Andy and Emily are very welcoming and have done a great job creating this wonderful cottage
