Glamorous and charming, this pretty 4-bedroom (sleeps 7 plus cots) farmhouse with pool enjoys a wonderfully tranquil location set down a sweeping tree-lined driveway with glorious, uninterrupted, views of rolling meadows to the rear and ancient trees to the front. Despite its scenic setting it's just a few minutes drive from many of the Aquitaine's prettiest bastide villages, including river-side St. Liverade, which has one of the largest weekly markets in the area and a host of useful shops and services, plus the large, yet equally charming, town of Villeneuve-Sur-Lot, just a few minutes further on.
Petit Manoir's lovingly restored and well maintained exterior is a good indication of what lies within. Swinging open the quintessential French doors guests find a light bright interior blending character features such as solid oak beams, stone fireplaces and tiled floors; with modern luxuries such as IPod docks, Wi-Fi*, satellite TV* with DVD and surround sound in the pretty snug, and dishwasher, microwave and gas range cooker, along with the usual gear, in the huge kitchen dining room. There are two spacious bedrooms on the ground floor (a double& a twin) plus a bathroom, equipped with a fantastic walk-in shower. Upstairs is the glamorous master bedroom with ensuite bathroom featuring a roll top bath and double sink. This links into a dressing room, which could take a cot. There is also a single bedroom on this floor.
Outside, is the real pièce de résistance, the stunning pool with its deck and wooden loungers, shady dining terrace and huge 8-acre garden with baby tree swing, all offering mesmerising views of beautiful local scenery. There can be few more relaxing ways to while away an evening than sharing a bottle of local, Cotes de Duras, wine and soaking in the views over the countryside towards the old hilltop windmill at Coulx, whilst the sky gradually becomes a blanket of stars.
All this, combined with the long list of baby and toddler gear, makes for the kind of holiday location most young families will find very hard to tear themselves away from!

Petit Manoir is within a short drive of some of the most beautiful villages, vineyards and historic sites in South West France. The principal towns of Villenueve sur Lot, Agen and Bergerac are all within easy driving distance, whilst the smaller bastide villages nearby provide all the essentials and offer weekly markets and fêtes bursting with local produce. Particularly lovely is Issigeac's Sunday market, especially when followed by the fabulous Sunday Brunch buffet at Chez Allain, which has an enclosed terrace with a raised pond and garden area little ones enjoy.
More family fun and even watersports can be found at nearby riverside beach (sandy), which is just a ten minute drive away., and at the 'Magic Cauldron' eco farm, named after the pot in which the mohair of 250 angora goats is farm dyed! Little ones will love making friends with the animals which they can touch and feed including lambs and kids, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, large angora white rabbits, highland cattle and two of the largest grubbiest pigs ever seen! You can also try your hand at cheese or bread making.

Getting There: Nearest airports are Bergerac(40 mins), Toulouse & Bordeaux (both 90 mins). The closest ferry ports are Bilbao (4.5 hrs), St Malo (6hrs) & Calais(10hrs).

The property was lovely and location wonderfully peaceful and very child friendly. However the property is requiring some TLC as much of the paintwork and furniture was looking tired. Also the property was not very clean when we moved in at the start of the holiday.
