This beautiful 17th century farmhouse is a truly idyllic rural retreat in beautiful meadowland with an including an acre of its own complete with two pretty (very safely fenced) ponds, one of which has a rowing boat and fishing rights - deal for introducing older toddlers and siblings to the delights of fishing for tiddlers!
Inside, the newly refurbished interiors blend historic beamed walls and ceilings with a contemporary palette of taupe, white and pine, and practical family-friendly furnishings. The four bedrooms include two twins, a family bathroom and two doubles, of which one has an ensuite shower room. Downstairs, the two lounges ensure one can be kept adult-friendly whilst the other, set up with playstation, books, games, a basket of toys and satellite TV, plus DVD, is an ideal family room. The study comes with wireless internet access (own laptop required). Outside, the large lawn has lovely views and is well furnished with wooden garden furniture seating eight, sun loungers, a gas BBQ and toddler-friendly swing, slides and trikes. There is also an all weather court used for tennis in the summer but is also fun to play football and basketball on all year round.
Owners, the Henry family, with their brood of four young boys, clearly know what it takes to keep everyone happy on holiday providing a good list of baby and toddler gear, plus table tennis, table football and a list of pre-bookable extra services from babysitting and private chef, to pre-arrival shopping (including formula, baby food, nappies etc.) and visiting beauty/massage therapist. They live the adjacent barn and are more than happy to offer first-hand advice on child-friendly places to see, eat and drink locally, and escort mini guests on chicken feeding and egg collecting rounds as well as introducing them to their petting rabbits Sugar and Spice.

The village of Bredfield is a lovely 10 minute walk along public footpaths from the Farmhouse, it has a wonderful Village Shop selling local produce, there is a play ground and a pub which serves real ales. The popular and pretty waterfront towns of Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo, Bawdsey, Orford, Aldeburgh and Snape with their boutiques, cafes, bistros and gastro-pubs are all within a short drive.
Just a few minutes drive from the property is award-winning Easton Farm Park which is perfect for toddlers and offers animal feeding, petting, egg collecting, horse and cart rides and mini train trips. Further afield, the Africa Alive safari park nr Lowerstoft has a fabulous re-creation of the African savannah in which animals roam freely as they would in the wild, plus a fun land train trip with commentary on the animals.
Don't miss the Farmcafe and Farmshop in Marlesford (10mins away) which not only sells fabulous local produce for cooking at home but has an excellent cafe with space of kids to play and have been listed amongst the best brunch venues in the country by the likes of The Times and The Independent. Similarly high praise has been won by the Watermill cafe in Woodbridge and its excellent deli, which is brilliant for gourmet picnic supplies, seafood, good wines and local cheeses. The Froize pub, near Woodbridge gets rave review for its gastro-pub fayre and is well worth arranging a night of babysitting for.
The nearest train station is in Woodbridge (3.5miles), which is around 90mins by direct train from London Liverpool Street.

In Partridge Lodge, the owners have created
fantastic accommodation in idyllic surroundings - perfect for a family holiday.
The Farmhouse itself was extremely comfortable and very well appointed.
The garden was great for the children toplay, and we enjoyed using the
tennis court, collecting eggs for breakfast and just having the chickens
around. The boys had fun fishing in the pond. The location, set away from the
road in the countryside is perfect for getting away from it all.
We have been on many family holidays
with our family around the UK in recent years, and Partridge Lodge is the best
place we have been to.

My family and I stayed at Partridge Farmhouse, nr Woodbridge. It was an amazing place, restored beautifully and comfortably with every single detail covered - from dressing gowns for adults to every kind of toy you could ever think of for the kids. The garden and surrounding area are also stunning and ideal for wandering around (especially with a baby that doesn't sleep!). Aaran and Sarah are lovely too and made us feel incredibly welcome -nothing seemed like too much trouble. My family and I travelled from all corners of the world to come here and we had a fabulous time. I would highly recommend Partridge Farm to anyone.

Sarah, Aaron and their family were so friendly, always ready to give advice, make recommendations, lend their bicycles (complete with child seat) and even provide a night of babysitting. We're already recommending them to our friends with children and will certainly be going back.

So many positive things to say about the house, the local area and Sarah who runs the property. The house is delightful. The garden is large and there are lots of toys to keep children happy. Feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs was great fun. We spent our first day at Easton Farm Park which is a short drive. It is well worth the entranec fee as theer is so much to do. Our second day was spent on a charming little beach at Bawdsey. This was a great tip from Sarah who understood exactly what we were looking for. I would really recommend this cottage and I will definitely be booking again.

Forget Cornwall or Devon, Suffolk is far more beautiful and totally unspoilt. Partridge Farm is idyllic for both adults and children, in fact we enjoyed our stay so much, we rebooked for next year before we'd even left!!

The house and garden are so lovely and relaxing that we didn't get out and see as much as we would have liked, so we're going back next year! My youngest daughter (almost 3) keeps saying: I want to go back to the farmhouse. This is rather amazing, because she normally doesn't want to go anywhere!

Sarah and Aaron are just delightful and there was no question or request unanswered. The most fully equipped and family oriented accomodation we have ever stayed in and we managed to keep three children under three fully amused and safe with all the things on offer in the house and local area - highly recommend this property, we liked it so much we rebooked before leaving!

We had a fabulous time at Partridge Lodge. We were looked after very well by Sarah & Aaron with lots of recommendations of family friendly places to go. The house had everything you could need for children and an amazing selection of toys to keep our children entertained. The house was very roomy and would ideally suit more than one family sharing as there is plenty of living and bedroom space. There is lots to do and see in the area and we really enjoyed our time there.

Our Holiday lets are secluded enough to feel freedom and the grounds
relaxed enough to have a wonder and take in all the wild life including
owls, woodpeckers, kingfishers and deer that inhabit our surroundings.
Or for a longer walk there's the footpaths that guide you to the
beautiful Boulge Estate (where lies in a quiet secluded churchyard, Mr
Edward Fitzgerald, translator of the Omar Kiyan) or in the opposite
direction to Bredfield Village with its community run shop and local
pub.

We have our own chickens (with great tasting real eggs for breakfast), sugar and spice our petting rabbits (which kids adore spending time with), to our sand covered all purpose court (for football, basketball, badminton), to our boat house and fishing pond (where a monster three pound eel was caught last year but the pike illuded capture).
