Finding a house and location in England more stunning than this might be tougher than prising a favourite teddy from a tot's paws, but, despite that, the fabulously stylish and child-friendly New England Beach House is actually surprisingly accessible, being within 90mins of central London, and very affordable, when booked by 8-12.
Set directly on the sand and shingle beach on the private estate of Angmering-on-Sea nr Littlehampton, the New England Beach House boasts luxurious Ralph Lauren-esque interiors, a large first floor verandah overlooking the beach, and two spacious gardens. These include a private rear garden with hot tub, and a decked, beachside garden with contemporary sun loungers, BBQ, dining areas and two free-standing outdoor baths - convincing toddlers to bath before bed will never be easier!
Inside there's a large dine-in kitchen with concertina glass doors making it open-plan to the decked garden, a formal dining room, elegant drawing rooms with comfortable sofas for 10 and a large family room with sofas and chairs, TV, full Sky package and DVD player. There two ground floor bedrooms, which are ideal for families who need either downstairs bedrooms for guests unable to manage stairs or who wish to nannies and have them housed on a separate floor. Both bedrooms boast ensuite bathrooms (one has shower only) and have access through French doors into the back garden, therefore this garden could be used privately by these rooms. Upstairs, there are a further three bedrooms, two of which have private ensuite bathrooms with freestanding baths and two with French doors to the furnished verandah overlooking the beach. In keeping with the boutique hotel standards throughout, there are TVs and DVDs in each bedroom, as well as in the TV Room and Drawing Room.
An hour's daily cleaning is included in the rental but big groups can also take advantatge of additional services from full-time cook, housekeeper, nannies, babysitting, pre-arrival internet shopping unpacking and even butlers ensure a relaxing and memorable stay.

The fabulous interiors, sociable garden set up and the fact the beach (pebbled at high tide, sandy at low tide) is on the doorstep makes it very tempting not to leave the Becah House at all. There's no need to venture far with the villages of Angmering-on-Sea and East Preston within 5mins walk which features a village shop, seaside kiosk, Indian and Chinese restaurants, surfers’ continental café, fish & chip shop, specialist wine merchant, hairdresser, beauty clinic, dentist, 3 pubs and other shops.
For a longer walk with a far more rewarding pay off, carry on 10-15mins to Littlehampton and its striking East Beach Cafe, which rises like a mussel-shell out of the shoreline. Designed by Heatherwick it has won numerous architecture awards and is just as enjoyable for a sunday brunch en famille as a champagne celebration dinner. Littlehampton is quite a bustling little seaside town, especially during weekends when there are a cluster of toddler-friendly rides and bouncy castles on its seafront.
Travelling in the opposite direction, along the coast is Brighton (approx. 20-30mins by car), which has a great selection of bistros and handily pedestrianised 'Laines' shopping area, plus a pier fairground and lovely boardwalk with cafes on the seafront itself. BFB recommends Pinxto People,a sophisticated tapas bar and deli a few minutes walk from the BCP car park on Regency Square, which has a cool yet family-friendly vibe and excellent menu including specials for niños. If you can't stop, get takeaway.
For a fab family day out, try Drusilla’s Park and zoo near Alfriston (about 30mins by car). It will keep toddlers entertained for hours with its animal attractions, two special playzones for under sixes, the indoor paint’n’make section and fantastic Thomas the Tank Engine ride complete with real life Sir Toppham Hat A.K.A Fat Controller to less PC generations!
Also within easy reach are Arundel with its brilliant antique shops and Goodwood - slope off to the spa and leave your partner to drool over the cars!
