A stay at Manor Farm Cottage is just the ticket for families looking to
escape the daily grind in favour of an indulgent country cottage retreat. It's 18th century exterior wouldn’t look a miss in a period drama, whilst it's high quality interiors are a masterclass in combining vintage-style
fabrics and tasteful colour palettes with
contemporary comfort and luxury touches.
The pretty stone cottage is haven for parents and tots alike thanks to the well-stuffed
toy boxes, trampoline, romantic log burner (perfect for crisp winter evenings) and gorgeous slipper bath. Junior guests will be enchanted by the bunting strewn bunks room with its star-shaped light and chest full of toys, whilst parents will love the other two beautifully designed bedrooms with their designer fabrics and co-ordinating soft furnishings. There's also the bonus of two separate lounges so mini guests can
make the day room, with it's TV, DVD player and toy
box, their spot of choice and grown ups can retain the living room as a quiet haven for reading or movie watching.
During the summer months the garden has a sunny patio area with built in BBQ
and dining furniture, ideal for a relaxing morning coffee, daytime picnic or evening
dinner and sunset drinks. Little ones will enjoy the lawned area which is ideal runing about and hides the ever popular,
with the young and young at heart, safely
enclosed trampoline and swing and slide set - ideal for burning off excess energy and helping promote a quiet night!
Accommodation Overview:
Guests enter into a small farm style porch, perfect for leaving muddy
wellies or sandy buckets before entering the main house. The front room offers
views out onto the surrounding countryside, finished with two comfy sofas
seating up to 6, a warming coal fire, flat screen TV with freeview, DVD player
and Bose i-pod docking system.
The dining room houses a large oak table,
seating 6-8 comfortably with an extension for 10 should guests be entertaining
friends plus there is a children’s table with 2 seats. This room also has an
open coal fire and looks out onto farm fields, best enjoyed from the reading
chair.
Leading from the kitchen there is a handy utility room with washing machine, dryer, separate w.c and back door leading to the gravel drive and side garden. From the other side of the kitchen there is a day room with 2 easy chairs, a TV, DVD, video player with a selection of children’s books, DVDs, toys and games not to mention grown-up books, DVDs and videos. French doors lead out into the secure, back garden.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a modern family bathroom. The two doubles house wrought iron, king size beds with memory foam topper, crisp cotton bedding and a selection of pretty furniture. The rooms are bright and airy with space for cots and offer further country views. The third bedroom is twin room ideal for little ones with white wooden bunk beds, handy chest of drawers with a built in change table, star lights, reading chair and enough space for a travel cot or two with a chest full of toys. The bathroom is spacious with a slipper bath, shower, w.c and sink.
Outside there is a pretty garden with built in gas BBQ and patio looking out
onto the cottage lane and down the garden. Children will enjoy the double swing
and slide combo or hours spent bouncing on the 8ft trampoline with enclosure.
The large lawn area is perfect for croquette or a run around. At the end of
this secure garden is a secret garden ideal for mini explorers or those in need
of extra peace and quiet. The entrance garden is set to the right of the house
with a garage, storage shed, washing line and a few apple trees.

Cottage is nestled in a quite country lane on the fringes
of the village of
Wroxall on the south side of the Isle of Wight. At
the southernmost tip of the
island, Wroxall and the surrounding area
enjoy some of the UK's sunniest
summers and mildest winters. Located in an area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty, the cottage is surrounded by some of south
England's best countryside and is ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a spot of peace, quiet and country charm.
Mini explorers will enjoy investigating the nearby ancient woodland, sheltered valleys and downs whilst parents can look forward to exploring the selection of find pubs and restaurants which scatter the area.
In summer months when a spot of sandcastle building and paddling is in order, the house is just a short drive from a range of beautiful coves ( Steephill Cove, Castle Haven) and beaches (Ventnor, Shanklin, Compton).
The pretty seaside resort of Ventnor is just 3 miles south and well worth a visit due to its sandy beaches, mild climate and wonderful botanic gardens.
Whilst those with little ones who love tea parties should pack tots favourite dolls and head 10 minutes north to Godshill which is a picturesque village renowned for its thatched cottages and cream teas! Aspiring knights and history buffs will enjoy a visit to Carisbrooke castle, where Charles 1 was held prisoner before his execution.
For a night out worth arranging babysitting for, The George in Yarmouth comes highly recommended for high standards of food and service but booking a few weeks in advance is suggested.
