For the winter wonderland experience of skiing and sledging to shops and restaurants, Le Village Arc 1950 is a pedestrianised winter sports resort in the heart of the French Alps. ‘Le Village’ has been designed and purpose built in classic Alpine style, using timber, stone and slate in keeping with traditional Savoyard architecture. Taking its name from its lofty location, 1950m above sea level, the apartments have 425km of pistes on the doorstep and are snuggled at the foot of the region’s highest peak ‘Red Needle’.
More than a mecca for skiers, ‘Les Arcs’ is buzzing with indoor and outdoor leisure and pleasure for families with children from tots to teens to have fun and chill out. While staying at Le Village, families have free use of heated outdoor and indoor swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, a fitness suite and ‘Deep Nature Spa’. Children’s clubs are provided for a range of age groups and the ‘P’tit Caribou Creche’ welcomes babies and toddlers from 9 months to 3 years old, featuring a very spacious and fun playroom where a host of supervised activities are on offer in addition to separate rooms for naps, feeding and changing. It’s also worth keeping an eye on the weekly entertainment programme for details of special events and activities in the resort, such as live music, wine tastings, fireworks, horse drawn skiing and snowshoe outings.
The spacious apartments are designed and finished to luxurious and stylish standards, with solid wood furnishings, roaring fires and satellite TV, comfy beds, sleek bathrooms and well equipped kitchenettes. Balconies offer views of the village and surrounding snowy peaks, with outdoor furniture to snuggle under a blanket with a night cap when the babies are tucked up in bed. A handy baby kit is also provided, comprising travel cot, baby chair, folding pushchair, changing mat and baby bath. An American style buffet breakfast provides a hearty start to the day, meals are available in the timber raftered restaurant, including baby foods and children’s menus or half board is a temptingly easy option. There is also a range of restaurants and bars to try out in Les Arcs, serving something for every taste, from crepes to curries.

Le Village Arc 1950 is at the centre of ‘Les Arcs’ winter sports resort in the Paradiski ski region, on the edge of France’s Vanoise National Park. Perfect for families, ‘Les Arcs’ has been purpose built to offer all the essentials of a classic holiday destination, from plenty of things to do to a good choice of shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy Alpine Après Ski. A mini market and bakery provide the basics plus there’s a pharmacy, banks, post office, winter sports shops, jewellery shops and boutiques for retail therapy.
The Vanoise Express cable car links the renowned winter sports destinations of Les Arcs, La Plagne and Peisey Vallandry to create the vast Paradiski Ski region. With 425km of pistes and two glaciers there is something to suit skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities, in spectacular Alpine scenery. There are nursery slopes close to Le Village Arc 1950 and particularly good green runs in La Plagne. Ski hire is available in the resort and the international Spirit Ski School is situated here too, offering group or private lessons for every level, including children.
