This rustic-chic finca is an idyllically set family-friendly boutique hotel combining stylish interiors with small hotel charm, a lovely rural location, 10 minutes drive from one of the best beaches on the island, and a family friendly approach. It is owned and managed by the friendly Webb family (originally from the North of England), who have their own toddler in tow. The 10 suites come with spacious double bedrooms, and separate living areas with sofabeds and mini kitchens that are perfect for warming baby food/feed or knocking up cereal or pasta for toddlers. The practical yet luxurious accommodation and tranquil but convienent (with a car) location, combined with a useful baby and toddler gear, from toys and highchairs to changing mats, potties, sterilisers and cots, makes Hotel Migjorn a great find for style-savvy families.
Unsurprisingly, the guestbook is stuffed full of rave reviews from happy parents of pre-schoolers. All adore the fact Hotel Migjorn is just 10 minutes (drive) from some of the island's best beaches, a fraction further to the picturesque town of Santanyi, home to good restaurants, boutiques and bars, and only half an hour from the airport, making for stress-free arrivals and departures. However, the highest praise is reserved for the ambiance which, with only 10 guestrooms, is more akin to that of a serviced villa than a typical hotel - especially when enjoying waiter service by the fabulously uncrowded pool!
The cuisine also garners high praise. Much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used in the delicious daily breakfasts, lunches and twice-weekly tapas/BBQ communal dinners are grown on its 'Home Farm', which guests are also invited to raid for supplies to cook in their own kitchenettes (equipped with twin hobs, fridges, sinks and microwaves - the latter on request). Daily breakfasts focus on fresh fruit, organic cereals and cheeses and are served on the terrace until 10.30am daily. The excellent tapas/BBQ nights take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays and there's waiter service for drinks, nibbles and light lunches (ordered by 11am) by the pool. The charred garlic chicken and local chorizos are not to be missed, whilst junior guests lap up the Migjorn Meatballs. Vegetarians are also well looked after.
Accommodation at Hotel Migjorn is in a choice of two suite types: 'Deluxe' and 'Superior'. All have pretty white-washed walls, natural stone floors, exposed beam ceilings and good quality furnishings, along with 1 bedroom (twin or double), kitchenette (sink, fridge, ice box, 2-ring hob and microwaves on request) and lounges with sofa beds and dining areas (see floor plans in photo gallery).
Deluxe Suites are set on the first floor in the main building and have twin/king-sized bedrooms and large bathrooms with tubs and shower over. Their lounge and kitchen areas have lovely rural views from safely enclosed Juliet balconies. Their Lounges have double sofa-beds, and bedrooms are large enough to take a cot or child bed. Book this suite type via the dedicated page on the BFB site (click other properties by this owner at bottom of Fast Facts box)
Superior Suites are ground floor and feature all of the above plus very large private terraces, with dining tables, sun loungers and lovely rural views. Book this suite type on this listing.
Despite its tranquil setting there are several little towns with decent supermarkets and good restaurants within 5-10minutes drive of the hotel. Plus, Es Trenc beach, reputedly the best beach on the entire island, is only 5mins away. However, families often find Cala Santanyi (10kms) more convienent as you can park close to the beach, easily hire beds and sun umbrellas, and there are family-friendly restaurants. The town itself is also popular due to its combination of charm and traditional architecture with interior design boutiques and international restaurants. The twice weekly markets in the town square has hand crafted jewellery, flower, fresh local produce and leather goods stalls. Arrive early and people watch from one of the many cafes or restaurants lining the square.
Alternatively, stay at little closer to home and hire bikes (trailers and child seats available) via the hotel and cycle to the nearby beaches and villages - the perfect way to burn off some of chef Craig's excellent cooking!

We feel very fortunate to have got the last available room at Hotel Migjorn for a really last minute break over Easter. The hotel is in a fairly remote spot, so you do need to hire a car, but once you have one, there are numerous beaches and towns to visit nearby. The hotel is in a great location, and is well kitted out for young families, with cots, children's beds, dvds, toys and highchairs. The swimming pool is a bit hazardous as it is not secured in any way but once our children went in and felt how cold it was (in April) they weren't so interested! Great breakfasts and very welcoming hosts.

It was a very pleasant experience. The breakfasts were excellent and the hospitality was second to none. They were very baby friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend it for a small family.

We've just returned from a six night break with our son who is 22 months old. Super hotel in a very peaceful setting. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and at home by the Webb family and the rest of the team. The family were very knowledgeable about the island and gave us lots of tips about places to visit. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast every morning, with plenty of high chairs and toddler-proof cutlery, etc. Our little boy loved playing with the huge basket of toys provided. We would recommend the tapas night lots of choice for both meat eaters and veggies. Definitely hope to return as soon as we get a chance.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts and we look forward to returning again. be warned, there are no ovens/grills in the kitchenttes, just a hob but we found the restaurant kitchen happy to heat up a pizza!

We had a fabulous week at the Migjorn. Location was so peaceful and relaxing (well as relaxing as a holiday with a 2 yr old and baby can be!). My son loved the pool and there were lots of toys and dvd's to keep him entertained. The owners were so hospitable and we had great fun at the bbq and tapas nights. Would really highly recommend!

We had a lovely time at Hotel Migjorn - people very friendly and great for families. We particularly appreciated all the toys and baby stuff available. The hotel is isolated, which is lovely, but means you have to drive to buy anything. A welcome pack with milk, tea, breakfast items would have been really appreciated (Owners Note: a welcome pack has now been introduced for early risers since breakfast is from 9am). The two evening events were good for mixing the tapas evening was rather over-priced. (Owner's Note: A different menu with kids options has now been introduced). We would recommend it to other families, but emphasise the need for a car and pick up supplies on your way from the airport.

A lovely warm welcome from the owners (from the same part of Newcastle as me!) and we immediately started to relax - a cold drink, a leisurely swim and a delicious lunch cooked to order. Enjoyed the pool and the organised tapas evening. Shame there wasn't bar and restaurant facilities every evening as the food was so good, we would have liked more! It worth paying the extra for a larger unit with its own private terrace. The hotel is a little way from the beach etc so you do need a car, but we wanted to do some exploring anyway. The pool was always nice to return to at the end of the day. There were some other BFB families there so the little ones always had little mates to play with. All in all, a super holiday!

We loved Hotel Migjorn. It's great to have just 10 suites - it made it feel more like a private villa than a hotel - but with staff! Having a bedroom and a living room with kitchenette is great when away with small children. The place is very tastefully appointed so that we felt we were in a grown up hotel but very relaxed so that we weren't worried about our toddler having the run of the place. The pool however is VERY cold -our only complaint. What makes this hotel though is the family who run it. Albert, his wife Yvonne, their daughter Katy and her husband are all lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and Albert treated our son Fin as though he was his own grandson and really brought him out of himself. He is a total star and Fin is still talking about him. If you don't mind unheated pools, I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to feel like a grown up with small children in tow. A great place

Lovely Hotel but it could have been a little plusher! Fluffier towels and a even more comfortable bed would have made a big difference!
