Cotton Bay Village is an elegant cluster of white coral stone villas, townhouses and apartments, set on St Lucia's exclusive Cap Estate and sharing access to a range of facilities including a sophisticated spa and health club, a chic bar and restaurant, a handy deli and a laid back beach club, plus a Montessori crèche & kids club for children from 3months - 8 years.

Accommodation ranges from poolside apartments set around the large and landscaped communal pool area, to elegant townhouses, with private hot tubs and 3 or 4 bedroom villas with private pools. All are luxuriously fitted with acres of creamy limestone floor, indulgent marble bathrooms, granite work tops, dark wood plantation-style furnishings, contemporary art works and gadgets including internet connection, flat screen TVs and DVD players. Kitchens are designed by German firm Christians and well equipped with ovens, hobs, dishwashers, microwaves, washer dryers and American-style fridge freezers. In Chateaux Mango villas, they even come with private butlers. A useful list of baby/toddler gear is provided (see grey box below) and that, along with the well priced nanny service (there's an hour included free when dining at the chic Piano Piano restaurant), excellent Montessori crèche and helpful and receptive service from the staff including owner/manager English ex-pat Michael Bryant and his super efficient right hand man, Kevin Snaggs, makes Cotton Bay Village an ideal small, stylish escape for pre-school families, especially in winter.

Pre-school families will probably find the following accommodation types best suited to their needs:
1 & 2 Bedroom Tamarind Apartments (request ground floor) - These are spacious at 1300sq feet. The 1 bed simply has a larger master bedroom with a walk-in closet (large enough to house a cot) and very large bathroom. The 2 bed (both ensuite) has a cosy twin bedroom best suited to two small children or one older child. They have pretty terraces with teak furnishing set next to the communal pool area but cleverly screened by plants. Those with active toddlers will want to block the entrance to the terrace with a sunbed to avoid worries about toddler pool dashes.

Terracotta Townhouses - Ideal for larger families, two couples with babies/toddlers, or those with grandparents in tow, these boast small, private swimming pools and roof top hot tubs with lovely views. The ground floor has a spacious open-plan living area and good size kitchen, plus a ground floor bedroom with ensuite ideal for children or grandparents. The middle floor has a large master bedroom with ensuite and a second king-sized bedroom. The third floor has W/C and roof terrace with hot tub, which is lovely for evening drinks in ear shot of sleeping little ones. Stair gates can be provided so toddlers/crawlers can be kept to the single level ground floor.

Price Guide: From £1,424 per adult per week (including flights from the UK). Pricing varies according to accommodation type chosen and flight availability.
