This charming 18th century former cider press is a real find having been recently transformed into a stylish rural retreat and boasting country contemporary interiors, a spacious garden, a wealth of useful baby and toddler gear and a handy location within a short stroll of a frendly village pub and grocery store. Being in North Dorset, it is also easily accessible from most of the southern half of the UK.
Comfortably indulgent with luxurious White Company linens, a romantic wood burner and wide screen TV the cottage has clearly been thoughfully renovated. Plus, the wealth of gear provided for mini guests (see grey fast fact box) promises a truly relaxing, home from home feel and stress free escape for frazzled parents who can head for their own slice of the country without having to fill their cars with everything but the kitchen sink!
Tots are bound to take to the pretty enclosed garden complete with Little Tikes climber and toys, although it gets some stiff competition from the village park just a few minutes away. The more grown up amongst the party will settle for a long glass of wine watching the sunset from the cottage's furnished dining terrace or indulging in a cup of cocoa snuggled up in front of the log burner. Though when nights out beckon, they can take advantage of the handy babysitting service and venture out for a meal at of the many nearby country pubs.
Accommodation Overview:
Guest enter into a main living room with comfy seating area, widescreen TV, DVD player and freeview along with romantic wood burning stove ( wood provided). Double doors at one end lead into the mature garden, with dining terrace, lawn and children’s play set. The open plan kitchen diner is well equipped with lovely oak work surfaces, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A set of (narrow) stairs lead to two bedrooms, the first an attractive double height room with double bed and the second a twin bedrooms with single draw bed which can be pulled out into two. There is one family bathroom with cast iron bath, shower over.
The cottage’s gardens lie to the front and side of the property with a paved, grassed and gravelled area bordered on one side by and attractive dry stone wall and hazel hedges to the other. The cottage has private parking.

This part of Dorset has the ability to be all things to all people. Bask in rural isolation in the stunning countryside close to The Cider Mill, admire the architecture of Salisbury and the mystery of Stonehenge, shop til you drop in Poole and Bournemouth or run free with the kids on the beach many accessed without spending more than an hour in the car.
Guests are spoilt for days out. Cranborne Manor is just down the road, as is picturesque Shaftesbury with that cobbled hill made famous by a series of Hovis ads. A short drive away is Salisbury, whilst slightly further afield are the kid-pleasers such as Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park, the beaches of the Jurassic Coast and Brownsea Island, made famous by Enid Blyton.
If the sun shines, the children will also love a trip to Honeybrook Farm, with it's large playground and array of outdoor activities, andalso the forest and adventure playground at Moors Valley Country Park.
When the weather gods send rain, guests can pack the small people in the car and head for Manic Monster Indoor Play area and the water park or bowling alley in Poole. In addition, there is enough walking, cycling, golf, horse-riding and watersports to keep the whole family smiling.

We had a wonderful stay. Our hosts were warm, welcoming and the cottage is just lovely. We felt cosy, comfortable and relaxed. Of all the places we've stayed in as a family this is the only one I would absolutely love to own! Aw inter stay was cosy, and I hope to return in the summer too. Highly reccommended!

Beautifully decorated cottage, perfect for a relaxing holiday with our 3 year old son. Everything has been thought of, but the child friendly features have been subtly incorporated so the decor still feels luxurious for adults. Gated garden with sandpit and garden toys was much appreciated and enabled a welcome initial couple of days lazing at home! The owners have put together a fantastic information folder with top 5/top 10 lists of days out for children/children and adults and places to eat; such a refreshing change from arriving to a cottage with an overwhelming array of leaflets for you to wade through yourself... The icing on the cake was the community shop - 5 mins walk up the road, open from 7am-6pm every day (staffed by volunteers from the village) selling fresh coffee and pastries along with almost anything else you might need during your stay! Wonderful feeling of community spirit in the village. Although inland, only 1 hour from beautiful beaches so ticked that box too. Owners very friendly and helpful, and we would definitely recommend this place to friends and hope to come back once number 2 arrives...
