Not only does this newly converted Italian farmhouse have an idyllic setting overlooking olive groves and vineyards, but it also offers a rare combination of traditional character with contemporary interiors. Plus it is just a short drive from several major towns and villages.
On the outside, the villa is a heady mix of soulful stone, olive groves, shady terraces strewn with hammocks and a glistening pool accessorised with comfortably-cushioned sun loungers. But that's not all, as there are plentiful parent-friendly touches too, from cots, highchairs and baby bath,s to baby plates, bowls, toys, games and books. Plus other parent-friendly touches such as a meal delivery service for long lazy evenings 'at home' and friendly ex-pat British managers who are a fantastic source of information on things to do and see, and where to eat and drink, since they live nearby with their own two little ones. But, for most, the idyllic salt-water pool with its uninterrupted views over the beautiful Italian valley setting will be the high point of any holiday.

Assisi, Florence and Siena are all within 2 hours drive, the latter being just 40mins away.
Perugia, which has a pretty centre, wide selection of shops and bistros is particularly lively during the annual jazz and chocolate festivals. The Citta della Domenica amusement park is just outside Perugia too and is popular for its animals and fairytale land which includes Pinoccio's Village, Snow White's House and Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Little ones love the train ride, jousting knights and 'real life' fairytale characters.
For those who hanker after beach days, there are several sandy beaches alongside nearby Lago Trasimeno (30 mins), of which the villa managers highly recommend Sualzo beach near Passignano. There's also an excellent waterpark (Tavernelle) within 50minutes drive, which has four pools including a very shallow toddler/baby pool complete with little slides and fountains.
Sports enthusiasts will find there several golf courses nearby that welcome visitors including the championship course at Antognolla. Watersports including canoeing are available at the Marmore national waterpark near Terni.
For eating out, Pomerancio in Umbertide has a nice outside seating area and comes highly recommended. As does La Locanda del Capitano in Montone, which is acclaimed for its beautiful setting in a small courtyard, great food and attentive service.
