Please note: From 2017 the house will be let as a 5 bedroom property.
Sweeping into the crunchy gravel drive of Hill Farm, guests immediately feel that they have arrived somewhere truly special. The beautifully restored, creamy stone exterior and setting, surrounded by open fields and orchards, feels more akin to a luxury Provencal farmhouse than a typical Brit getaway. Patio doors flung open, gas BBQ fired up, elegant patio furniture laid with wine glasses and kids gamboling in the pretty gardens, it would be easy to believe you were in the Med! But, if the British weather is less exotic, the stylish interiors and cosy wood burner make this beautiful farmhouse an equally idyllic spot for an indulgent winter, spring or autumn getaway too.
This historic 6-bedroom farmhouse has been beautifully restored, both inside and out, to create the kind of country coastal escape the more urban amongst us often dream of. Mini guests will love fossil-spotting in the original blue lias stone staircase or retreating to the snug playroom with its cache of toys, books, DVDs and Playstation. Grown-ups will love relaxing in the main lounge with its log burner, oak floors and garden views through large patio doors, or sneaking off for quiet time in the elegant reading room.
The impressive kitchen and dining room is the real heart of the home with its huge farmhouse table which seats up to 12 for sociable suppers accompanied by the cosy log burner in winter, or patio doors open onto the garden in warmer months. The fabulous custom made, Farrow & Ball painted farmhouse kitchen blends beautifully with the funky grey blue Eames chairs, whilst the long stretches of elegant granite worktop and the latest NEFF and AEG appliances add to the sophisticated feel of the room. Plus two dishwashers ensure there's never a need to wash up and a separate utility room with laundry facilities means there's no need for the noise of domestic chores to invade the relaxed living spaces.
A super-king and a king bedroom sharing an adjoining shower room complete the downstairs and make an ideal set up for several families holidaying together, since they can split over two floors. Although, coins may have to be flipped for the luxurious upstairs master suite with its super king bed and en-suite bathroom with his and hers basins, marble shower tray, roll top bath and fabulous power shower. The losers will be easily consoled with their marble tray showers and Sleepeze beds topped with feather and down duvets making for blissful nights of sleep. A second king and two twin bedrooms, plus a family bathroom with another roll-top bath, complete the upstairs.
At Hill Farm there's real attention to detail not just in the standard of the refurbishment but also in the things that really help make for a relaxing family holiday. Wi-Fi, IPod docks, SKY TV ensure the technophiles and IPad addicts are well catered for, whilst the romantic roll top baths, log burners and beautifully tended gardens ensure those who seek more soulful pleasures are well catered for too. Plus, thoughtful extra services such as ready meal delivery, babysitting, in house beauty treatments and even private chef hire for celebration meals, all but guarantee a relaxing holiday all round. For family fun time, there’s plenty to do, whether they're exploring the spacious grounds, playing family games or relaxing in front of the log burner with a good film and a cup of hot cocoa. Best of all, for those travelling with young children, even the stress of packing for the trip is removed with a handy list of baby-friendly equipment available on request (see grey 'Fast Facts' column for details). A stay at Hill Farm is altogether idyllic!
