BFB's Overview

From the Wills and Kate connections to the world’s most famous golf club, St Andrews has got to be one of Scotland’s most glamorous locations and North Star is a suitably swish place for families to stay here in style.

Gleamingly fresh and modern, this family apartment takes up two floors of a Georgian town house, just 30 yards from the University’s historic Graduation Hall and a 2-minute stroller stroll from the beach (stroller included). Conveniently, and a rarity in St Andrews, North Star has free on-street parking immediately in front on the house and there is also a private walled garden at the rear for children to play in the playhouse and on the swing/slide and for sizzling up prime Scottish beef burgers and steaks on the Weber BBQ.

Guests have been gushing in their praise of Shona, the owner and BFB especially approve of her ‘baby go lightly’ approach to providing bulky kit and caboodle so parents don’t have to cram it in the car – (everything from feeding pillow to bouncer chair, playmat with activity arch to bjorn carrier, monitor to steriliser are included). Children will be delighted to discover a cupboard full of toys to play with and the apartment has the latest home entertainment gadgetry including TVs with DVD players in all three bedrooms as well as the lounge which also has Sky TV, a Sonos Music system and free unlimited Wi Fi for playing or browsing on tablets. A telephone is provided for incoming and outgoing landline calls at no extra cost and babysitting can be arranged.

There is a playhouse and swing / slide set as well as boules and giant jenga in the enclosed, private garden and buckets and spades are provided for days on the beach.

The living room, dining area and kitchen at North Star, with its solid oak flooring and exposed beamed ceiling, is a bright, open plan space for families to chill out after days at the beach and for making mealtimes all part of the quality time together. The newly installed kitchen naturally has all the latest appliances, as well as baby crockery and cutlery, plus little luxuries including Joseph Joseph accessories, Tassimo coffee machine and Denby crockery. Comfy beds with 100% Egyptian cotton linen and original working shutters providing blackout are conducive to good nights’ sleep, plus fluffy towels and cotton dressing gowns are included as well as Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries in the spotless tiled bathrooms.
