“Space to land a helicopter” is all guests need to hear to recognise
that Chateau Les Tours is a very special place for a very special
holiday. Built in the 13th Century it has retained many original period
features and has been grandly and luxuriously furnished throughout,
combining French antiques and contemporary mod cons. That it's also baby
and child friendly seems almost too good to be true!
is for 8 adults and 4 children in 3 double en-suite bedrooms, a further
double bedroom, which is connected to one of the double en-suites, a
twin bedroom (with kids four-posters - magical for budding sleeping
beauties!) and a family bedroom with a double bed and two singles.
Chateau is set in 30 acres of landscaped parkland and guests should
prepare to have their breath taken away as they feast their eyes on the
fabulous floodlit swimming pool* and pool house, full size boules pitch,
children’s play area and outdoor dining facilities - Although some may
be tempted to adopt a ‘Lord of the Manor ‘ role in the West Tower’s
formal dining room instead!
Mini guests are well catered for with
the provision of cots, highchairs, a baby bath, baby bouncer, baby
monitor and steriliser, plastic crockery, cutlery and sippy cups. Safety
has clearly been considered with stair gates, bed guards and socket
covers are also provided.
Those who want to step back into the
13th Century, but not without their 21st Century gadgets can relax.
Satellite TV (with English Channels), DVD/CD player with a library of
DVDs/CDs, a home theatre, broadband Internet access, and an iPod docking
station are all provided in the Chateau.

Saussignac, the nearest village is a short stroll away and has a boulangerie and restaurant. A short drive away, Gardonne has a mini market with a delivery service.
Nearby Bergerac, once a medieval city is captivating. A boat trip along the river is a great excursion, or visit the organic market where truffles can be purchased (in season).
Chateau Les Tours is within a short drive of some of the most beautiful villages, vineyards and historic sites in South West France. The principal towns of Villenueve sur Lot and Agen are all within easy driving distance, whilst the smaller bastide villages nearby provide all the essentials and offer weekly markets and fêtes bursting with local produce. Particularly lovely is Issigeac's Sunday market, especially when followed by the highly acclaimed Sunday Brunch buffet at 'Chez Allain' (not cheap but well worth it), which has an enclosed terrace with a raised pond and garden area little ones enjoy. They offer kids meals on request.
Family fun and watersports can be found at one of the nearby, sandy river beaches and at the 'Magic Cauldron' eco farm, named after the pot in which the mohair of 250 angora goats is farm dyed. Little ones will love making friends with the animals which they can touch and feed including lambs and kids, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, large angora white rabbits, highland cattle and two of the largest grubbiest pigs ever seen! Visitors can also try their hand at cheese or bread making.
The villa management company can arrange nanny services and day excursions such has half day tours of the famous Chateau Neuf du Pape Estate, spa sessions, market tours and private cookery classes.
