This scenically set 4-bedroom villa combines the best of both worlds being tranquil and independent, but just five minutes drive down a quiet lane from the coast at Es Trenc, Sa Rapita and Ses Covetes with their miles of sandy beaches, shallow waters, beach bars and restaurants.
Apart from its tranquil but convenient location, what really sets Casa Susurro apart is its 6-acres of glorious grounds with lawns, pretty gardens and trees and a lovely large pool, which is secured thanks to gating around the terrace. There are well-furnished shady spots for relaxing with a good book or a glass of wine, and dining areas both inside and out, making it an exceptionally comfortable family retreat. There are great views from both inside and out, and they don't just encompass the grounds but further a field with the island of Cabrera visible on a clear day.
Mini guests will adore having safe space to roam, whilst parents can relax from the outset thanks to the secure grounds, gated pool terrace and long list of useful baby gear and toys, that make for light packing too.
Inside, the villa's traditional, finca-style, exterior hides a modern interior with light, spacious, air-conditioned rooms, three modern bathrooms, an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, electric oven and large style fridge freezer, washing machine, Microwave etc.) and a comfortably furnished lounge. Heating is available in cooler months.
The four bed villa is set on extensive gated grounds with a gravel driveway and plenty of car parking space. To the front of the house lies the large, natural garden while to the rear of the property sits the covered terrace, pool and lawn area. At the side of the house there is a large courtyard area with BBQ and dining table under the shade of three magnificent Jaquaranda trees.
There are small clusters of steps between the villa's terrace and the pool/gardens and these have been secured with gates and a fence that surround the terrace preventing little ones from gaining unsupervised access to the pool. The pool area is furnished with loungers and sun umbrellas for shade, whilst the terrace is shaded by a roof and a tree provides shade to a courtyard dining table. The pool has roman steps to enter which are ideal of little ones wanting to splash and play in the shallower waters.
The house is entered through double wooden doors, leading into the bright and spacious living area complete with comfy sofas, large dining table, a well stocked bookcase and wonderful views of open countryside. There is a staircase leading to the upper floors (gated top and bottom on request).
Through the lounge area to the left is the kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven and large style fridge freezer. The washing machine is housed in the utility room next to the kitchen, with iron and ironing board. Doors from the kitchen lead out towards the back of the house and covered terrace area which has plenty of seating for all guests and is perfect for alfresco dining.
Off from the living room area there is one double bedroom which overlooks the pool and garden area. The room is spacious with space for an additional child bed or cot. There is also a full bathroom with bath and shower on this floor (ground floor) . The other bedrooms are situated on the first floor along with two bathrooms.
Upstairs there is another smaller lounge with sofa and chair. This room has doors which open onto another uncovered sun terrace with wonderful panoramic views of the open countryside, gardens and pool below. There are three bedrooms, one en-suite double room with shower and two other bedrooms which are accessed through their own door which leads to the two bedrooms (a double and a twin) and one shared bathroom. This set up is ideal for families as it makes a good 'family unit'.
The house has air conditioning in all bedrooms and overhead fans in the lounge.
Despite its tranquil setting the villa is a short drive from Campos which is a busy agricultural town which livens up on market days every Thursday and Saturday morning. It is a friendly place with a smattering of interesting shops, restaurants and one of the best bakeries on the island.
Es Trenc is reputedly the best beach on the island, and worth a visit as it is so close (5 minutes drive). Here, 4 kilometres of beach are backed by sand dunes and natural bush land, with hardly a hotel complex in sight. Like all the popular beaches on the island it becomes busy in the height of the summer. Nearby the quieter beaches of Sa Rapita and Ses Covetes (in the same bay) are less well known, but just as beautiful.
However, families often find Cala Santanyi (10kms) more convenient as you can park close to the beach, easily hire beds/sun umbrellas, and there are family-friendly restaurants. The town itself is also popular due to its combination of charm and traditional architecture with interior design boutiques and international restaurants. The twice weekly markets in the town square has hand crafted jewellery, flowers, fresh local produce and leather goods stalls. Arrive early and people watch from one of the many cafes or restaurants lining the square.
The transfer time from the airport is approximately 35 minutes and the city of Palma is a 45 minute drive away.
