often discover some truly special finds here at the BFB towers, however in
the case of Casa Lucciola, we’re almost reluctant to share! The simple yet stylish interiors, stunning views over the Sibillini Mountains
and inviting private pool at this lovingly restored country house for ten are likely to ensure it will be heavily booked very quickly.
in the unspoilt Le Marche countryside just a few minutes’ drive from the pretty town
of Mogliano, the house provides an idyllic retreat for families looking to
relax and unwind in the Italian sunshine, a million miles away from the hustle
and bustle of life at home. Mini guests will love exploring the large gardens
whether they busy themselves jumping on the 4m trampoline, trying out the tree-swing, splashing in the pool (with adult supervision) or swinging on the hammocks, whilst grown-ups can take up a lounger poolside with a
good book or sit back with a glass of wine and a fresh bowl of pasta taking in
the views safe in the knowledge that even the most adventurous of tots can’t
have strayed far as the house and grounds are safely fenced and gated.
those who can tear themselves away from the house itself, a short drive will
take families to the local town which has plenty of shops, cafes, bars and
restaurants to explore along with a weekly market which is perfect for stocking
up on essentials and those little holiday indulgences. For parents looking to
rekindle the romance, there is an open air opera arena nearby not to mention a
wealth of good restaurants which, thanks to the villa's babysitting service, can serve up
some rare time alone!
those in need of extra pampering, guests can take advantage of the owner’s
handy concierge service and arrange a masseuse to visit the house or yoga
instructor to help release the tension. Although, in BFB's humble opinion, with stunning views, lovely interiors and optional extra services such as pre-arrival shopping, meal delivery, babysitting, plus child-friendly toys and equipment, the house itself has a talent
for melting stress away all on its own!
there is cosy living room with comfortable sofas, armchairs and beanbags
perfect for snuggling up for a movie night with a large 38"TV and DVD player, or games night PS2 console and
a selection of family board games. There is also a handy wood-burner perfect
for those renting out of high Summer season. The impressive kitchen is well equipped with
an electric cooker, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster,
kettle and plenty of kitchenware, so its perfect for whipping up a family feast.
There's a dining table with seating for ten within in the kitchen though
during the summer months guests tend to prefer the lovely outdoor dining
terrace with large table, chairs and BBQ. With tots
in tow a washing machine is always handy and the house has a fully fitted
utility room with washer, iron, ironing board and clothes dryer. There is also
a cloakroom with basin and toilet.
there are four spacious bedrooms each of which has space for a cot. There are
two double bedrooms with king size beds, laid with sumptuous Egyptian cotton linens, and their own en-suite bathrooms (one with bath and walk-in shower, the other with shower-only). The third room is a further king size double and the
fourth bedroom is set up with 4x full-sized single
beds plus a wooden cot and bedding, making it an ideal 'kids dorm'. The third double and quad room share a family bathroom with bath and shower, plus an additional children’s washroom with
basin and toilet.
there is an acre of private fenced and gated gardens with a private swimming
pool (unfenced) surrounded by wooden cushioned loungers and relaxing chairs. There
are shaded hammocks perfect for taking a break from the sun plus the large
dining terrace with BBQ, netted trampoline and tree swing. There is space for several cars to park next to the house.
Although enjoying a wonderfully scenic and tranquil setting, the Casa Lucciola is actually pretty convenient too being just a few minutes drive from a good-sized town and only around an hour from both the nearest airport and some of Le Marche's loveliest beaches.
Le Marche is based around family and food and as guests will discover, the
local town of Mogliano doesn’t disappoint on the latter. For
stocking up, there is a great choice of traditional butchers, bakers, grocers
and pasta makers plus a decent supermarket. A lively market comes to town every
week which sells everything from meats, fish and cheese to hardware and
clothing though we hear the Porchetta stand is especially delicious! There
are plenty of good restaurants on the doorstep offering traditional dishes
which change daily depending on whats on season, plus some wonderful pizza. The town’s
bars and cafes make a pleasant place to stop for a coffee and maybe a cheeky
ice cream during the day and come evening are laden with delicious antipasti
for guests to help themselves to over a glass of wine.
those hoping to burn of some of the holiday indulgences the nearby mountains
offer a great location for hiking or mountain biking though families may prefer
to work it off in water and head to the beautiful lake beach at Lake Fiastra
set in the mountains with lovely views or the adriactic coast in Monte Conero
within an hour’s drive.
sophisticated evening without tots in tow, the outdoor
opera at Sferistero in nearby Macerata is well worth a visit though guests may
be tempted to stay closer to home and try out the local restaurants or bars.
shoppers in the family will find a good designer outlet nearby which shouldn’t
disappoint for shoe lovers as Le Marche is the shoe manufacturing centre of
