Like all the
best Baby-Friendly Boltholes, this sophisticated four-bedroom contemporary villa has been
designed by a family for families.
Developed by
UK-based owners, the Keane family, the villa has been designed to be as
indulgent for adults as it is for mini guests and has all the ingredients of a
relaxing and memorable escape whatever the season, not least a convenient
location within a few minutes’ drive of the beach, harbour-side bistros and within an hour of two
airports served by low-cost airlines from most UK airports.
The architect-designed villa combines elements of boutique hotel-chic with
all the amenities of home, plus the benefit of a sunny location and its own, safely-fenced,
swimming pool complete with funky furnished terrace and kids splash pool. The kitchen is stylish and well equipped with a large fridge freezer,
hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and oven. Whilst the sunken lounge
provides a perfect escape from the midday sun with satellite TV, Playstation 3,
CD and DVD player.
Tots in need
of shade and a quick nap can retire to bed where they can drift off to one of
their favourite films courtesy of the extensive kids’ DVD library. The dining
area is perfect for family dinners with an elegant solid wood table, hanging
pendant light centre piece and seating for eight. For special occasions guests
can take advantage of the additional catering service, or when a break from the
cooking is called for, there is a handy meal delivery service.
The house
has four spacious bedrooms, offering enough space for multi-family or extended
family groups. There is a large master with king sized bed, walk in closet and furnished
terrace – gorgeous for morning coffees or late night drinks! The room has its’
own ensuite with double sinks, a shower and w.c. There is a second king size
double with similar ensuite set up and additional bidet. Plus two further
bedrooms are ideal for little ones, one is a twin with ensuite shower room, and
the second is a bunk bed room with additional pull out single camp bed and cot.
There is a family bathroom with bath and shower.
The house is
ideally set up for 4-6 adults and 2-4 children plus 1-2 babies in cots.

The house is perfectly located for exploring all that Javea has to offer, the picturesque Old Town lies just away and boasts a lovely selection of restaurants, tapas bars and shops. Trastienda comes highly recommended for tapas. There is also a weekly market every Thursday, ideal for picking up fresh food to take back to the villa and cook up a feast on the BBQ.
Javea port is another must see with a pretty promenade running along the bay, beside a pebbly beach with plenty of places to stop and have a drink or take a stroll. The local fishing boasts usually dock at around 5pm and their catch is available to buy from the local market. The port has plenty of great restaurants hidden away and a reformed maritime museum which usually holds art exhibitions and a small collection of boutiques.
Just south of Javea’s port is Arenal, a long sandy beach perfect for little ones and a whole hoast of restaurants and bars. For nights when a babysitter is booked there are some new bars which are worth a visit but for a cooler relaxed vibe guests should go to the port and sample the moijitos at La Siesta outdoor bar or the cool vibes of Mongo di Bongo which is next door.
Quieter beaches can be found outside the town but are worth making the trip; most noteworthy ones are Denia beach, quieter than Arenal with a more French and Spanish crowd, Olivia beach which is not only home to a huge, quiet sandy beach but some of the coolest beach bars on the island. The beach also caters for children with play areas scattered along the stretch.
Getting There: Both Valencia and Alicante Airports are within 60mins drive.

Owner Profile
This gorgeous child tailored bolt hole was designed and built from scratch on a lovely flat plot at the foot of Montgo Mountain. Not wanting to totally give up our own sense of identity, the Villa has a miami feel, with big open spaces and loads of light. We are Declan and Genevieve and we have two children, Patrick aged 5 and Lizzie aged 2 and we built the Villa as we wanted a luxury holiday home which was safe, in one of the most beautiful places in the world. www.casadelaluzjavea.com |
We love our house as it is spacious, large and light. The upstairs bedroom complex has a big walk in wardrobe and a vast bathroom. The Bed is expensive and we sleep so well. The shower is powerful and warm. It really is a grown up paradise with a private terrace and day bed to enjoy an evening chill out when the kids have gone to sleep! All the furniture in the house is gorgeous and is much nicer than I have at home. The bedrooms downstairs are also lovely and big.
All the beds have excellent comfortable mattresses and Dorma bedlinen, so adding to the comfort.
The huge open plan living area is amazing for keeping an eye on the children and also for hosting the perfect party! The pool is 12m and so excellent for a swim.
The Mountain makes a challenging but do-able climb and the flat valleys around are great for running and cycling. The interior design always makes us smile and the newly fitted underfloor heating makes the villa fantastic to vist all year around.

The kids love it because there is everything they need to be entertained and to be entertaining! The central courtyard, which is shaded all day, is a perfect, safe place to play when we are out sunbathing by the pool. They also have hours of fun chasing each other around it. The children's bedroom is gorgeous with lots of toys. A playstation for the older ones also keeps the boredom at bay. Javea itself has the most adorable beach which has loads to entertain children and because of the huge expanse of sand the children can happily play on the beach and climbing frames while we sit and have a drink. They are visible at all times.
