This hotel opened to much acclaim a couple of years ago and is a very trendy boutique hotel set on a perfect sandy beach – not too large and very intimate. However, it is the room layout and the crèche and children’s club which makes this a unique option for a family holiday to the Caribbean. A member of ‘The Leading Small Hotels of the World’, the 80 room resort has been designed with suites only. Families are offered Beach Suites which have a second bedroom and are located directly onto the gently shelving sandy beach. There is also a small cinema, library, spa and two top quality restaurants in addition to a lovely swimming pool. There are a plethora of watersports available and a private speedboat that whisks you away to the sights on the island or an intimate picnic.
As a sister-hotel to London's glamorous One Aldwych, The Carlisle Bay will have parents swooning at the level of sophistication in its interiors and at the cuisine in the two restaurants, both of which have received glowing reviews from many of the UK's top food/travel writers. The spa facility is equally stunning and, funnily enough, the breathtakingly beautiful library with fibre optic lighting that changes the mood throughout the day and bookshelves stocked with the top 10 beach reads as recommended by travel writers, that has garnered the most acclaim.
The Carlisle Bay is an all-suite hotel with 82 suites. Families with under fives in their party are accommodated in beautiful shoreline 'Beach Terrace Suites'. These spacious (730sq ft) suites have king-sized double bedrooms with seating areas and a separate study or second bedroom with twin beds, plus a large beach front terrace with seating and a double day bed. The interiors are cool and calm with bespoke furniture, luxurious silks, crisp white Frette bed linen and stunning original artworks. The bathroom is large and luxurious with both a bath tub and a shower. Fresh fruit is delivered daily and the price includes breakfast and afternoon tea, plus complimentary high tea for youngsters in the club house. Each suite has a fully stocked minibar, individually controlled air-con, in room safe and 24-hour room service on call.
Price Guide: From £1,382 per adult per week (including flights from the UK). Pricing varies according to accommodation type chosen and flight availability.

The Carlisle Bay is located on a gently shelving white sand beach on the beautiful and unspoilt south of the island. It is within 20 minutes of the Georgian splendour of Nelson's Dockyard and picturesque English Harbour. Once home to Nelson's navy, and used as part of the set for Pirates of the Caribbean, this area is now a popular destination with the international yachting set and boasts some lovely boutiques, bistros and bars. Just north of English Harbour is Shirley Heights where a family-friendly outdoor barbecue and live music party takes place every Sunday, set against a backdrop of stunning views across the island and the sea. The airport-hotel transfer time is a very reasonable 40 mins.
