Wychwood Festival, Cheltenham
May 16, 2011
Find yourself going a bit misty-eyed when Glastonbury kicks off in June, remembering when you were foot-loose and childfree and could spend days in a field listening to great music? Might be worth giving Wychwood Festival a try.
Voted most family-friendly festival at the UK Festival Awards for the past six years, it offers a laid-back, folk-heavy vibe at Cheltenham race course on June 3-5.
You can sip cider in the sun while indie legends The Charlatans, Cornershop and folk-rock greats The Waterboys warble in the background and then tour 100 fun workshops with the little ones. An on-site childrens’ literary festival includes author Philip Ardagh, writer of the Grubtown Tales, is a star kid attraction this year.
