Risked our first camping trip of the year last weekend. Blazing sunshine as Scarlett and Fin and their little mates went feral in a field only three miles from our front door, while we adults sipped beer and grinned approvingly from our easy chairs around the BBQ.

This was clearly an English aberration. The next time it will be raining stair-rods and I know that the small people’s only protection will be a selection battered and mildly smelly waterproofs currently festering in a plastic bag in the hallway cupboard.
