Eldorado baby changing bag
February 4, 2011
Can you hear a loud fanfair of trumpets in the background? Yes, I think I’ve found the Hold Grail of Dadhood – a baby changing bag that allows you to be a New Man without feeling like an Ex-Man.
Pretty early on in the fatherhood experience, most of us resign ourselves to the fact that going out with the small person requires a level of planning and equipment packing more normally associated with the Normandy landings.
Ok, fair enough. But does it also mean that we have to be seen in public sporting a quilted, pastel-pink bag with a fluffy bunny emblem embroidered on the side?
No, it seems it doesn’t. At least not now Koochu have unleashed their Eldorado onto a pathetically-grateful male market. The faux leather manbag comes in vintage brown, marco black and vintage black, and quite frankly looks the business.
A total of eleven interior and exterior pockets give you plenty of room for stashing supplies of wet-wipes, nappies, changes of clothing, feeding bottles and the endless assortment of creams and unctions you just know you’ll need for that seemingly-simple trip to the park. It even includes a water resistant, double sided (one side soft towel) changing mat.
And – genius! – it’s machine-washable, thereby transforming the unspeakable nappy sac leak into a bit of an inconvenience rather than a full-on, stinky disaster.
An Eldorado will set you back £95.00. But that seems a small price to pay for recapturing your male pride, especially as you can zip out all the baby-related fittings once junior has got beyond the formula and nappy rash stage and use it as a proper, grown-up office or weekend bag.
