Meet Olli Ella, the sisters creating stylish nursing chairs for the contemporary home

Last week I hot-footed it through Islington to meet Chloe and Olivia, two sisters who are innovating the world of nursing chairs with their funky coloured, contemporary designs.

As with so many great products, the Olli Ella chairs were born out of necessity. After the birth of Chloe’s son, she looked for a suitable nursing chair but didn’t want something traditional when everything else in her home was contemporary. So she created the Olli Ella chairs.

I fell in love with the dapper Da-da Glider. It boasts a sleek low back and generous square shape seat replete with a lumbar pillow that also doubles up as a nursing pillow. And it’s seriously comfortable. After a long walk through Islington I was in need of a sit-down and with my feet resting on the gliding Ottoman I can assure you this is top-level luxury.

Every mother deserves a comfortable chair of her own and these are pieces that will see you through from the dizzy early baby days to the boisterous years ahead. They are comfortable, gorgeous, sumptuous bespoke pieces that are almost too good for a nursery.

Adorn your little elephant’s wall with one of these stunning retro wallpaper stickers.

We blogged about the Inke wallpaper stickers back in March, but have just received news about the latest colourful addition to their wildlife family – a baby elephant.

Each baby elephant wall paper sticker is hand made and comes as a DIY kit, complete with a brush and some ecological wallpaper glue. You can choose from a wide variety of vintage and designer wallpapers, which makes every piece truly bespoke.

Bébé Bisou caught my eye whilst attempting to navigate London’s vast Westfield shopping centre. It is a great little boutique with toys, books, nursery essentials, clothes and the most wonderful range of shoes, all for children aged 0-6 years. It is pretty much a one stop place for a gorgeous treat or special gift.

They have a great range of very chic, and perhaps a little expensive, clothes ranging from traditional Baby Dior dresses, to bright striped Ralph Lauren, pretty Cacherel and Jean Paul Gaultier. The JPG range was spot on with its mix of distinct tailoring, fun colours and shapes, but with the all important wearability that kids need.

As well as the stunning clothes and dinky shoes, Bébé Bisou carries a lovely collection of baby cot bedding and blankets.  They have fun animal prints by Olive and Moss  and a sumptuous, but totally affordable range of beautifully patterned natural cotton muslin by Aden + Anais. The gorgeous soft, easy-to-wash Dream Blanket is perfect for nap times and for travel.
Overall, the verdict is that Bébé Bisou cleverly combines luxury brands and unique nursery items with a mix of affordable and splash-out priced things to buy. The staff were attentive and friendly and the shop is easy to navigate with a buggy.  I set my two year old up at the little toy table where he played while I browsed.  You could happily spend anything between £5 and £500 here. If you’re after something special, this is a great place to look.
