Eat Up: Cutlery Sets
April 10, 2010

I’ve been looking around for a new set of children’s cutlery for my four year old. There’s a wealth of cutlery aimed at babies, but a lack of decent stuff at affordable prices for older children.
The Sheffield based designer David Mellor is best known for his innovations in cutlery. He created his classic Child’s Set in 1977 and it’s been a best seller since. The Child’s Set is made with stainless steel and ergonomically designed for little hands. It’s just as well made as adult David Mellor, with the primary coloured resin handles making it easy to spot in the cutlery drawer. Priced at £28 it’s a high quality and good value investment piece of kitchenware. The set makes a great children’s present too.
David Mellor Design operates on the simple principle that well-designed equipment can improve your life. I’m hoping the new cutlery set will inspire better table-manners too.
