Read What People Are Saying About BFB

"Idyllic..a parent's dream..."

"Villa Pia is idyllic. First the food. Then the setting; an artist's dream of rolling hills and cypress trees just two minutes' walk from the village of Lippiano, with its fairytale castle. But perhaps most important is the easy, laidback, house party feel of it all - a parent's dream. " "Watching your wallet certainly isn't an issue here, though watching your waistline could be problematic. If that doesn't bother you, this is a place you'll want to return to over and again."

BFB in Observer Top 10 Holidays

William Gray listed  BFB's Windfall Cottage within his Top 10 Family Holidays  published in the Observer on Sunday 14 June. He said: "Parents with babies will go ga-ga over this cottage in Beckford in the Cotswolds. The master bedroom has a baby suite, plus wet-room shower and freestanding bath. There's also underfloor heating and an Aga. Baby-friendly Boltholes (babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk): from £1,495 a week or £725 for short breaks July-September."   William Gray is a journalist and author of "Britain with Kids" Out this week by Footprint Guides (£14.99)

'both inspired and indispensable'

"Having children doesn't mean you have to buy a windbreaker and go cold turkey on luxury travel. New mum and former travel PR Sian Williams has set up an online directory of family friendly holidays for boutique-hotel junkies. Her website www.babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk is both inspired and indispensable. It features more than 100 finds from funky farm-stays in the West Country to chic chateaux in the Dordogne, and every property is handpicked as much for its interior design as its baby-friendly facilities. This is life as you knew it." Tatler Magazine, November 2008.

Can we move here?

The Guardian says of Baby-Friendly Boltholes' Caserío del Mirador: "Where hols are concerned, "stylish" plus "family-friendly" usually equals "eye-poppingly expensive" - not so at Caserío del Mirador, which gets top marks for not hiking prices the minute school's out. Superbly located at the head of the Jalon Valley, its chic apartments are equipped for self-catering, but delicious meals can be delivered to your terrace from the main house, or enjoyed communally. (There are nightly dinner parties and baby monitors) Plus, to make life even easier, essential baby gubbins is on hand. Kids get equally spoilt, with tea parties, art sessions, play areas, a cracking pool and friendly goats to pat." The Guardian, Feb 21, 2009.

Tess and Vernon Book BFB 'Staycation' in UK

BFB was delighted to hear that the very lovely Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have used the site to book their first break with their new baby, Amber and big sis Pheobe. We are especially delighted that they are supporting UK tourism in this credit crunch year with a 'Staycation' in the South West of England. Unlike some celebs, there were no freebie requests or all-expenses paid by OK! style shenagians, for this glamorous but un-starry couple,  the first we knew about the booking was on reading Tess' column in the Mirror.   BFB wishes the Daly/Kay family a very happy holiday and thanks them for using BFB!   BFB founder, Sian says "Fabulous! A good excuse for me to stay in and watch Strictly on a Saturday night... I wonder if I could justify a lie in for Vernon's weekend Radio 1 show on this basis too??"
