There's something of a Hansel and Gretel feel about 'A Woods Cottage'. Recently the subject of a high quality, contemporary refurbishment, this unique 19th century cottage has an amazing location set in its own woodland on a 50-acre micro-estate with private access to the tidal estuary - great for shell seekers! With no immediate neighbours, the cottage offers privacy and tranquility throughout the year with the exception of local wildlife including Woodpeckers, Buzzards, Herons and Rabbits who regularly visit the cottage lawns.

The cottage consists of four bedrooms, sitting room, dining room, master bathroom, additional WC, utility room, boot room / entrance hall and a spacious kitchen with relaxation area. The bright and airy kitchen boasts large south and west facing windows with views out across the lawn and onto the Chichester Harbour. When the tide is in, you can sit back and watch passing yachts and dinghies from the comfort of a large leather couch. There are two large double bedrooms, the master bedroom has its own en-suite shower and basin with a large balcony overlooking the creek, perfect for sipping pre-dinner drinks on before enjoying a summer evening BBQ. The two smaller, twin bedrooms at the back of the cottage are quintessentially English in style and ideal rooms for children with views out onto the woods and towards the duck pond. The master bathroom has a two person bath with in-built whirlpool, the perfect way to end a busy day having fun!

A welcome pack will await your arrival including fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, chocolates, tea, coffee, sugar, eggs, bacon, sausages, cereal, milk, freshly baked bread & orange juice. The house provides all the modern conveniences that you would expect including a flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player, IPod Docking Sound System, Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, Microwave, Freezer, Hairdryer, Iron, a telephone and free wireless broadband. There is also a selection of CD's, DVD's, Games & books.

Please Note: The foreshore is approx. 40metres from the house, sensible supervision is required when using the wider gardens and woodlands.

Reviews Show Location Map Situated on the South Coast of England between the historic market town of Chichester and the Navel City of Portsmouth, Tournerbury is the perfect base from which to explore.

Chichester is approximately 20 minutes drive with fabulous shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, an excellent Farmers market and the world renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. Its stunning cathedral is open daily with special trails for children. Chichester Harbour is one of the south coast’s most popular boating waters and harbour tours depart year round in either a traditional boat or a Solar Heritage – solar powered boat. Should you wish to travel a a little quicker, there is the option to charter the cottage’s own powerboat ‘Monkey Puzzle’ to whizz you around the Solent.

Certain members of the family may be keen to learn that Goodwood estate, home to motor sports Festival of Speed, isn’t too far away but with an abundance of parks, castles, National Trust properties and child-friendly, interactive museums plus a zoo and an aquarium nearby, there’s plenty to keep even the most discerning of little travellers entertained.

Nearest Medical Services: 1 mile – local medical centre with doctors surgery & pharmacies. 5 miles - late night chemist. 12miles - large hospital A&E.

Our two-year old son was in heaven. Ride-on digger, swings, trampoline and endless space to run around in. For once he was allowed to shout as loud as he wanted - no neighbours to annoy. Perfect setting for a family retreat. A long weekend wasn't long enough.

Great place for a holiday. The outdoor space is amazing for all of the family. Easily enough room for 2 families - or one plus grandparents! No need for shower in bedroom however and big bath a little difficult to put tiny ones in.

Owner Profile
Theo and Felix

Hello, We are Theo and Felix. We are 5 and 2 and we run Woods Cottage.
Well actually our Mummy and Daddy run it but we are definitely in charge .
Mummy and Daddy are called Chris and Alice.
We love going to the Woods and the Cottage when we haven't got any guests staying there so we can use the trampoline, swings and slide and run around an awful lot.
The lawn areas around the cottage are so big you can play football on them (great) and croquet (boring grown-up game).
Best of all there are always interesting birds and animals to look at. We like to see the Buzzards and Herons (because they are really big) and the pheasants and rabbits too.
We love being there in the summer but Woods cottage is also brilliant in the autumn and winter months as there are real fires (with fire guards) and lots of DVDs and television on demand for us when it rains alot outside.
We hope you will come and stay at Woods Cottage and enjoy playing down here as much as we do.

Woods Cottage has been in our family for nearly a hundred years and is a very special place.
It blends being by the seaside with a wooded country location and yet remarkably close to local shops and amenities
and only a short drive from visitor attractions and cities such as Portsmouth (with its Royal naval Dockyards) and the
beautiful City of Chichester and the Goodwood Estate.
Sitting outside the cottage on a summers evening with a drink watching boats go by on the high tide is truly magical, or
walking around the private woods kicking up leaves on a blustery autumn or winters day and coming back to the cottage
to start a roaring fire and toasting crumpets by the fireside is just wonderful.
We hope that if you come and stay at Woods Cottage we will be able to do everything possible to make your break relaxing, happy and rejuvenating.

Our feedback from guests tells us that children love the sense of space and being able to run around the large lawn
areas as well as being close to the beach, funfair and numerous visitor attractions.
We also get a lot of feedback about our two person jacuzzi bath which is rather large to say the least!
Adults love relaxing in it with a couple of aromatherapy candles burning at the end of a long day having fun and
children love it to splash around in the whirlpool waters that are thrown up by the water jets.
