The Alicante region in the Valencian Community in Spain offers much in the way of family holidays. Visiting Alicante city itself, or other popular seaside resort cities such as Torrevieja and Benidorm, offers much in the way of shopping, dining and entertainment, along with several excellent child friendly hotels. For historic fun, visit the Castle of Santa Barbara in Alicante on the top of Mount Benacantil, offering not only history but fantastic views of the area.
For a theme park experience, Mount Tossal Theme Park consists of several terraces running down the slopes of Mount Tossal and the park offers several fun attractions including giant chess, mini-golf, skating and skateboarding and several children’s games, all with a great view over the sea.
Going further afield, towns such as Denia, Elche and Calpe among others, offer a more traditional Spanish feel along with some excellent sandy beaches and warm sea for swimming and all the major water sports in the summer months. Dining, shopping, pony rides, boat trips and fishing, among other activities, are available along the coastline.
With plenty of baby friendly accommodation on offer in the region, the whole family can have fun in the sun with peace of mind.
