Puglia, or Apulia as it is often known in English, is a region located in southern Italy. The region borders on the east with the Adriatic Sea, the Strait of Òtranto and Gulf of Taranto in the south as well as the Ionian Sea to the southeast, offering spectacular destinations for family holidays at the beach. The most southernmost part of the region is known as the Salento peninsula, which makes up the “high heel” of the so-called “boot” of Italy. The Salento peninsula offers incredible limestone formations along the coastline, making for beautiful rocky scenery and colossal arches over the sand, while enjoying a day at the beach.
Bari is the capital of the region, and is a seaside city offering several child friendly hotels, along with plenty of historic sites to visit as well as excellent shopping and dining. Ostuni is another city and commune worth visiting in the region. Located in the Brindisi province, this medieval town has a lot to offer and is great fun for the whole family to explore.
In short, Puglia has much to offer, offering a variety of baby friendly accommodation giving both peace of mind and comfort for the whole family.
