Brittany is an area in the northwest of France, often dubbed “Little Britain” due to its proximity to the English Channel in the north. The region is also bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Celtic Sea to the west, and the Bay of Biscay to the south.
The region is ideal for family holidays and offers much in the way of child friendly hotels, whether inland or along the coastline. It also offers much to see in the way of history, especially in the larger cities of Nantes, Rennes and Vannes, as well as shopping and dining experiences.
Inland areas tend to be hilly and scenic and the Breton coast is stunningly beautiful with many cliffs areas as well as a natural harbour in the Gulf of Morbihan, which is almost a closed sea itself with around forty islands dotted around the gulf. Brittany also offers approximately one third of the total French coastline with a length of some 1,780 miles, giving many opportunities for a seaside holiday for the family.
Whether spending time inland close to the villages of Brittany, or at the pretty coastal resorts, the area offers much in the way of baby friendly accommodation, making it the perfect destination.
